octoBox waveGen * Radar and Interference Generator

octoBox waveGen * Radar and Interference Generator
Programmable RF waveform generator emulates wireless
interference, including radar for DFS (dynamic frequency
selection) testing. Controllable via USB or Ethernet/PoE.
octoBox™ waveGen™ module emulates common sources of wireless interference to test wireless
devices and systems under realistic conditions. waveGen can emulate signals from radar, cordless
phones, Bluetooth devices, microwave ovens, baby monitors and other sources of interference.
octoBox waveGen is commonly used to test DFS functionality of 802.11h capable Access Points. It can
also be programmed to emulate OOK (on/off keying) and frequency hopping devices and can be easily
integrated into the octoBox wireless testbed.
APPLICATIONS
DFS (802.11h) functionality and behavior testing
Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/p/n/ac), Bluetooth and cellular
(GSM, UMTS, LTE, FDD, TD-LTE and LTEAdvanced) testing
Throughput vs. range measurements under
interference conditions using octoBox-MPE testbed
RX interference handling
Measurements under controlled signal and noise
power settings
octoBox waveGen module is exceptionally well isolated and
features filtered USB and Ethernet interfaces for power and
control. Isolation keeps random interference from entering
well-controlled octoBox based wireless testbeds.

octoBox waveGen can be used with the octoBox testbed to
measure throughput, mobility, capacity and other performance
parameters under interference conditions.
octoBox-26 with a
waveGen module
A waveGen module in combination with octoBox quadAtten
module can be mounted on the octoBox to create a variety to
test topologies.
waveGen can be used to test the ability of APs to detect
interfering radar signals and perform a channel switch in
compliance with 802.11h DFS protocol.
