The information required by FCC Rule 73.2080(c)(6) is provided in the charts that follow. INITIATIVES The employment unit engaged in the following broad outreach initiatives in accordance with various elements of FCC Rule 73.2080(c)(2): Participated in at least 4 job fairs by station personnel who have substantial responsibility in making hiring decisions. 1. Local HR Coordinator participated in the California Lutheran University’s Career Fair on April 16, 2014 at the CLU Campus in Thousand Oaks, CA. 2. Local HR Coordinator participated in The Hispanic/Latino Professionals Job Fair on April 19, 2014 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, CA. Participated in scholarship programs designed to assist students interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting. KFWB’s General Manager participated in the Southern California Broadcasters Association 2014 Scholarship Fund. This included promoting broader institutional outreach of the scholarship program, offering to meet with and/or provide station tours to scholarship winners and participating in the selection process for 2 of SCBA’s scholarships awarded to students pursuing careers in Radio Broadcasting. The General Manager participated in the Alliance for Women in Media Southern California Affiliate “Speed Mentoring” event on March 22, 2014. Volunteers served as mentors for this career development program targeted for students, young professionals and already established individuals that are interested in making a career change. Members of the Alliance for Women in Media Southern California Affiliate and the public were invited to register for and attend the event as mentees. Mentees had 5 minutes with each media professional to obtain career advice and potentially discuss careers in broadcasting and jobs at the Station. 2. The Human Resources Coordinator gave a tour to the child actors enrolled in The Actor’s Fund “Looking Ahead Program” to educate them about broadcasting opportunities and introduce potential careers outside of the acting profession. KFWB’s Controller participated in the tour and shared information about careers in broadcasting with the students. Listed all job openings, including upper-level category openings, at 20+ job banks whose membership includes substantial participation of women and minorities. - Participated in job banks, internet programs, and other programs designed to promote outreach generally (i.e., that are not primarily directed to providing notification of specific job vacancies). Listed each upper-level category opening in a job bank or newsletter of media trade groups whose membership includes substantial participation of women and minorities. Participated in other activities designed by the station employment unit reasonably calculated to further the goal of disseminating information as to employment opportunities in broadcasting to job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities. The Station’s Human Resources Coordinator assisted the Web Producer in making significant contributions to the KFWB website which contains information designed to inform the KFWB LICENSE TRUST 2014 ANNUAL EEO PUBLIC FILE REPORT – PAGE 2 general public of the numerous and varied career opportunities available in the broadcasting industry and of the job skills necessary to compete for them. Listeners to the stations are regularly directed to visit www.kfwbam.com to view all available job opportunities. Supplemental outreach engagement. 1. KFWB’s Trustee was a member of the FCC Advisory Committee on Diversity for Communications in the Digital Age during the reporting period and participated in two meetings of the FCC Diversity Committee. 2. KFWB’s Trustee served as a member of the Advisory Board Member for the Minority Media Telecommunications Counsel and participated in 2 telephonic board meetings during the reporting period. 3. Along with KFWB’s Trustee, KFWB’s General Manager helped plan and participated in The Women’s Room @ NAB, presented by the Alliance for Women in Media. The event took place on April 7, 2014, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. 4. KFWB’s Trustee was appointed as a member and served as the Chair of the Media Issues Sub-Committee and now is the Chair of the Sub-Committee on Barriers to Entry. 5. KFWB’s Trustee serves as the Dean of the NABEF’s (National Association of Broadcasters Educational Foundation) BLT (Broadcast Leadership Training) Program, a 10-month executive MBA style training program to help women and minorities become owners and CEOs of broadcast properties. During the reporting period, she attended six weekend sessions of the BLT Program, and taught at each one. Classes were held in September 2013, April, May and June of 2014. 6.
