Technical Reference Sheet
ASTRA Spyglass Web-based U/I
ASTRA Spyglass
Spyglass: Low-res Browse
ASTRA’s Spyglass native application is available for use as
a Web based, user configurable desktop GUI. It runs on
Windows based platforms with Internet Explorer and on
Apple platforms with Mozilla Firefox. It can also be used as
an ActiveX component integrated with various NRCS
systems.
Spyglass is used with ASTRA Browse for desktop viewing of
low-res content, clip metadata, and clip keyframes.
Keyframe
capability is dependent on the transcoder application.
Spyglass: Asset Viewer
Spyglass Asset Viewer lets users view the ASTRA CMS
database from their desktop in order to list, sort, and filter
content. It also provides a simple search engine and it can
use the ASTRA FullText Search application for complex
searches.
ASTRA Browse provides users with an easy way to
enter custom metadata
Spyglass: Proxy EDL Editor
Spyglass panel at the bottom shows key metadata
of the highlighted asset.
Spyglass is used with ASTRA’s Browse EDL Editor for more
powerful clip editing. Segments of various clips can be
assembled to form an EDL of a new clip. This EDL is then
sent to a high-res editor to be conformed.
Spyglass: Metadata Viewer/Editor
Spyglass Metadata Viewer lets users view, enter, change, or
enhance clip metadata. It can also create placeholders and
register clips produced on an NLE system. ASTRA’s security
system prevents unauthorized changes from being made.
Metadata can be viewed, edited, and changed based
on preset authorizations.
