Technical Reference Sheet ASTRA Spyglass Web-based U/I ASTRA Spyglass Spyglass: Low-res Browse ASTRA’s Spyglass native application is available for use as a Web based, user configurable desktop GUI. It runs on Windows based platforms with Internet Explorer and on Apple platforms with Mozilla Firefox. It can also be used as an ActiveX component integrated with various NRCS systems. Spyglass is used with ASTRA Browse for desktop viewing of low-res content, clip metadata, and clip keyframes. Keyframe capability is dependent on the transcoder application. Spyglass: Asset Viewer Spyglass Asset Viewer lets users view the ASTRA CMS database from their desktop in order to list, sort, and filter content. It also provides a simple search engine and it can use the ASTRA FullText Search application for complex searches. ASTRA Browse provides users with an easy way to enter custom metadata Spyglass: Proxy EDL Editor Spyglass panel at the bottom shows key metadata of the highlighted asset. Spyglass is used with ASTRA’s Browse EDL Editor for more powerful clip editing. Segments of various clips can be assembled to form an EDL of a new clip. This EDL is then sent to a high-res editor to be conformed. Spyglass: Metadata Viewer/Editor Spyglass Metadata Viewer lets users view, enter, change, or enhance clip metadata. It can also create placeholders and register clips produced on an NLE system. ASTRA’s security system prevents unauthorized changes from being made.
