PRODUCT OPERATION Pressac Communications Limited (the original manufacturer) declares that the product branded The Pressac Wireless CT Clamp needs to be commissioned before use. There are 2 ways in which the unit can be commissioned. CT Clamp 63A – 868 MHz CT CLAMP 60.CT 63A 50.60HZ.[315]-[868]-[902] 63A – 50/60Hz – 315/868/902 PRODUCT SPECIFICATION DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY 1. CT Clamp 63A – 315 MHz CT Clamp 63A – 902 MHz satisfies the requirements of Annex II of the R&TTE Directive and has been independently tested & found compliant with the essential requirements of: BS EN 61326-1 2013 Electromagnetic Compatibility BS EN 61010-1 2010 Safety Requirements for Electrical Equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use Where applicable the original Certificates of Compliance are held at Pressac’s business address, with copies being available on request. Nottingham, Feb 2014 Pressac Communications Robert Smith 145 Glaisdale Drive West Technical Director Nottingham Pressac Communications NG8 4GY Self-powered learn As the unit is 100% energy harvesting, it can only perform a self-powered learn if it is clipped around a suitable conductor and there is a minimum of 1A flowing. If this is the case, clip the CT clamp around the conductor and wait for a period of 30 seconds. With a suitable tool (sharp, nonmetallic, non-conductive element), depress the learn button which is on the underside of the product. The LED should briefly flash. The Pressac Wireless CT Clamp is now commissioned. 2. EnOcean® network manually. To do this you will need the unique EnOcean® ID of the Pressac Wireless CT Clamp and also it’s EnOcean® Equipment Profile. The EnOcean® ID and the EEP are printed on the product label on the Pressac Wireless CT Clamp. The Pressac Wireless CT Clamp is designed to measure and report the AC current flowing in a single conductor. Powered from the measured conductor itself, the measured current value is reported every 10 seconds (or every 30 seconds if the current is found to be below 3A) using the industry standard, wireless EnOcean® protocol. Capable of measuring currents up to a maximum of 63A (50Hz or 60Hz), the Pressac Wireless CT Clamp is easily installed with no disturbance to the measured conductor. DISPOSAL INSTRUCTIONS The symbol shown here, and on the product, means that this product is classed as electrical or electronic equipment, and should not be disposed of with other household or commercial waste at the end of its working life. The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive (2002/96/EC) has been put in place to recycle products using the best available recovery and recycling techniques to minimise the impact on the environment, treat any hazardous substances, and avoid landfill disposal. WIRELESS GUIDELINES To be able to measure the current within a single-phase cable, the Pressac Wireless CT Clamp must be correctly clipped around the cable, ensuring that the ferrite cores within the clamp reliably and consistently touch each other. In permanent installations, the unit can be cable tied to the conductor for added security. Once installed and commissioned, the value of electric current is transmitted every 10 seconds (for values of current between 3A and 63A). For smaller values of current (between 1A and 3A) the reporting period is reduced to every 30 seconds. If a current lower than 1A is flowing, the Pressac Wireless CT Clamp will not report any information or transmit any EnOcean® telegrams. The product uses an EnOcean® STM300 Module for transmitting the data wirelessly. It supports the following EEPs (EnOcean® Equipment Profiles): In typical building conditions, where there are no obstructions causing screening, EnOcean® devices will normally interoperate at a range of 30m line of sight (LoS) Typically in a building, there are a number of factors, which can reduce this LoS range further. Material reduction vs. LoS Range Wood, drywall, glass (uncoated with no metal 0-10% Brick, plaster board 5-35% Metal, concrete, mirrors 10-90% *EEP A5-12-01 *The EEP standard, A5-12-01 defines the measured units as Watts. This device reports the units in Amps. A new EEP to support this device in reporting Amps has been submitted to the EnOcean® Alliance and is pending approval/release. TECHNICAL SUPPORT Furthermore, the angle at which radio waves penetrate obstructions also has a greater or lesser effect on signal quality. Where an obstacle to transmission is present, the signal should propagate perpendicular to the obstruction for best results. PRODUCT MAINTENANCE Tel: +44 (0) 115 936 5238 E-mail: [email protected] On receipt of the product, inspect it carefully to ensure no damage has occurred during shipment. If damage is evident, or it fails to operate according to specifications, contact your dealer, or Pressac. The features that are of utmost importance to maintain within the life span of this product are the ferrite cores. It is important that the surfaces of each side of the ferrite cores are kept clean (which can be achieved using the alcoholic wipes provided), so that when the unit is clipped around a cable, the ferrite cores are touching each other. Failure of the surfaces to mate will cause incorrect readings to be measured and reported. The Pressac website www.presscomm.co.uk has further information on our company, services and products.
