American stock exchanges.
Mineral Exploration
Some highlights of Dr. Kretschmar's experience are as follows: As a student he
worked for several seasons on regional mapping teams in the Rankin-Ennadai
and Coppermine River areas, NWT, on field parties headed by P.F. Hoffmann,
K. Eade and J. A. Fraser. In 1973, he worked for Cominco Ltd. in the Arctic
islands where he was involved in the exploration and the discovery of kimberlites
on Somerset Island. From 1974 to 1977, he was involved in Cominco Ltd.'s
2
regional nickel exploration programs in the Abitibi belt in Ontario & Quebec and
developed exploration techniques utilizing detailed descriptions and sulfur
geochemistry of komatiites, which had only recently been described for the first
time.
From 1978 to 1979, he worked in the Alaska Range, the Brooks Range and in
the Yukon-Tanana Upland, Alaska conducting regional helicopter supported
geochemical exploration programs for gold, base metals and tungsten for WGM
and Resource Associates of Alaska. In 1979, he was retained by General Crude
of Texas during the staking, mapping and initial evaluation of the Red Dog zinc
and lead deposit. From 1980 to 1982, he was engaged in gold exploration in
the Salmon River Camp including work in Stewart, B.C. & Hyder, Alaska and a
re-evaluation drill program at the British Silbak Premier Gold Mine. From 1982
to the present Dr. Kretschmar has supervised, conducted and evaluated
numerous exploration projects in Canada and internationally for junior
exploration companies, major mining companies (including Noranda, Aur
Resources and Liberty Mines Inc.) and provincial and federal governments. In
1983, he was contracted by the Geological Survey of Canada to map, evaluate
mines and develop geological exploration models for turbidite-hosted gold
deposits in Nova Scotia in the Meguma Group. Between 1988 and 1993 he
worked in Guyana on gold, base-metal, diamond and industrial mineral
projects (including a Caricom market study for Guyana white sand). He drilled
and evaluated the Prairie L. carbonatite for Nuinsco in 1988. In 1990, he was
engaged by Corona Corp. and Platinova Resources Ltd. to develop exploration
techniques and seek Skaergaard-type layered magmatic gold and PGE deposits
on a world-wide basis. In 1993 he was a consultant for Southern Era Resources
working on diamond indicator mineralogy.
Between 1994 and 1996 his major project was to evaluate the diamond- bearing
Drybones Bay kimberlite located in the Slave Province, N.W.T. for Trade Winds
Resources Ltd. This project includes drilling of 21 holes, supervising DMS
recovery of diamonds, valuation of diamonds, and using indicator mineral
chemistry, geophysics and statistical methods to predict diamond grade. Most
recently he evaluated diamond and placer gold projects in Ethiopia, Tanzania,
and Venezuela and phosphate and vermiculite resources in Uganda. He played
an instrumental part in the discovery and development of the currently
producing, world-class Namekara Vermiculite deposit in the Bukusu
carbonatite complex in Uganda.
Private Company Experience
In the period 1984 to 1994 Dr. Kretschmar was President of Canadian Shield
Stone Products Ltd., Belrose Minerals Corporation and Igneous Stone
Corporation, companies which developed marble and granite quarries in
Southern Ontario. His tasks included all facets of the building stone industry
including grade and reserve estimation, quarry evaluation and operations, plant
3
design, equipment and product selection, manufacturing, marketing of blocks
and semi-finished stone products. Consultancies in building stone included
evaluation of building stones and quarries in Minnesota, Burundi, Kenya, Guyana
and Cuba for private companies and international aid organizations. He carried
out numerous quarry examinations in Ontario, Italy, Germany and North and
South America. Dr. Kretschmar has also been President of private corporations,
including Sedna Silica Corp, Rankin Gold Corporation, and Kaladar Soapstone.
Between 1999 and 2005, he was President of Claim Lake Resources Inc (now
Fort Chimo Minerals Inc [FORT-CNQ]) and is currently director and President of
Claim Lake Nickel Inc, a private mineral exploration and development company,
director and VP Exploration for G-Star Mining Corp. (www.gstarmining.com)
with projects in Ontario and Guyana. His private company Golden Scarab
Corporation (www.syngeneticgold.com), carries out worldwide exploration
research on lode gold deposits. The result of this work is a text book: THE
METALLOGENY OF LODE GOLD DEPOSITS: A SYNGENETIC PERSPECTIVE which
will be published by international scientific publisher Elsevier.
Public Company Experience
He has experience as president and director of various publicly traded
companies. He was in turn a director, Vice-President of Exploration and
President of Wye Resources Inc. between April 1987 and May 1990 where he
directed the exploration, drilling and evaluation of the Saganaga Lake Gold
deposit. Dr. Kretschmar was also Manager, Exploration for Lakefield Minerals
Ltd. (LKFD, CDN) and a Director of Cabot Creek Minerals Corp (CABT, CDN)
and The O'Donnell Group (YOD, CDNX). Dr. Kretschmar was Vice-President,
Exploration for Vancouver-based Trade Winds Resources Inc (TDN, CDNX)
in the period 1994-2000. Dr. Kretschmar was a director of MacDonald Mines
Ltd in the period 2003-2004. In the period 1999-2001, he was Vice-President,
Technology of Greenvolt Corp. an Ontario- based subsidiary of Greenvolt
Power Corp (GVLT, NASDAQ) that was planning to manufacture commercial
alkaline fuel cells. From 2006 to June 2007, he was a director of Limerick
Mines Ltd. From August 2009 to April 2010 he was senior officer and VP
Exploration for Liberty Mines Inc (now Northern Sun), which is currently
producing and extracting nickel from three mines in Timmins, Ontario.
From 2005 to 2011, the main clients for his consulting company, Exploration
Geoscience Associates Inc, were Sage Gold Inc (TSXV: SGX) and Carina
Energy Inc. During his tenure at Sage from the Fall of 2005 to Dec 2008, his
sole efforts resulted in acquisition of all Onaman-Beardmore-Geraldton, Wawa
and Manitoba gold properties. 17,000 m were drilled and increased the
tonnage at Lynx # 1 from an historical 70,000 tons at 3.6% Cu, 2.40 g/T
Au, and 99.43 g/T Ag, to an NI 43-101 Initial Compliant Inferred Resource
comprising 1,936,000 tonnes with an average grade of 1.44% Cu, 39.6 g Ag/T
and 0.58 g Au/T. The Lynx zone contains 61.3 M lbs Copper, 2.24 M oz. Silver
and 33,000 oz gold. At the Jacobus Cu-Ni deposit 8,000 m were drilled, which
4
proved up and confirmed historical resources of about 1 million tonnes
combined Cu-Ni grading 1%. Theoretical analysis (based on PGM ratios)
predicts that there a massive extension to the ore body at a depth below 500
m. The Jacobus East (Golden Extension area) veins were acquired during a
staking rush and the Sage shareholders were very happy to ride the Kodiak
Exploration tailcoat when they raised $55Million.
