Advances in Geospatial & Simulation Models for Earthquake and Disaster Studies (WAGISM 2014) About The Workshop The past decade has seen the devastating effects of earthquakes striking India with frightening regularity.The most recent major earthquakes demonstrated the need for seismic vulnerability assessment and mitigation as well as development of seismic resistant structure. The Mission for development of technologies for the mitigation and management of earthquake disasters aims at minimizing the damage at the time of their occurrence and immediately thereafter, especially in those areas where there is already shortage of resources. The workshop tutorial helps in deliberating and assessing the earthquake hazard associated with various important theories and planning for efficient earthquake disaster mitigation. The workshop focuses on the recent geotechnical, geoinformatics, structural and simulation models and trends to mitigate earthquake disaster.
