1. The specification for the works shall be based on SHW and Plymouth City Council Standard Details .
2. The contractor shall comply with all the special requirements of the utility companies. Copies of the
existing plant locations are provided in the PCI.
3. For Design Hazards refer to App F in PCI.
4. All traffic management shall be approved and comply with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manuals.
5. Prior to commencement of works, signs shall be installed on both approaches informing public of
commencement date, length of works and funding sponsors including PT&H and Sustrans (SD1.1.2,
1.3 12.6)
6. Temporary "new junction layout ahead" (SD12.TS.4-S6) signs to be installed on both approaches and
shall be removed 3 months after completion of works and returned to Amey Depot, Prince Rock.
7. For all proposed street lighting details and ducting layouts refer to WPD drawings.
8. Setting-Out to be carried out by Contractor before site works commences and agreed with the
Engineer. Coordinates are available on request.
9. All vertical faces in existing surfaces shall be formed using a suitable powered saw.
10.Horizontal clearance of new signs and street furniture from kerb face to be 600mm unless stated
otherwise.
11. All excavation works will require services to be marked out and operate hand dig in areas accordingly.
All soft spots at sub-formation level are to be excavated and filled with class 6F1 material to clause 613.
12. All litter, loose vegetation and debris shall be collected and disposed accordingly.
13. Topsoil to verges to be 150mm thick seeded with grass seed to PCC specification. Grassed areas to be
compacted with suitable roller.
14.Reinstate all surfaces (de-stone & roll) adjacent to works & do litter pick before completion of works.
15. All verges shall be 25mm lower than the top of concrete edge to prevent debris entering path surface.
Where verge is a cut batter it shall be 50mm. The edging shall be slightly lower than path surface to
avoid water ponding.
