Welcome to a new school year!
Fall 2014
Welcome Back!
We hope everyone had a great summer, and
both students and advisors are now getting
back into the swing of school! Your officers
and officer advisors have been working
diligently to get the state competitions ready,
and it is shaping up to be monumental! It
seems like everywhere the hashtag is
trending, so we decided to play upon what’s
going on in society and incorporate that into
the conference. This year’s theme is
#passion2teach, because after all, passion in
the classroom is the foundation to teaching!
Check out the new website:
http://feaohio.wix.com/feaohio where you can
find all of the latest news as well as conference
materials. We will have all competition
information up soon, but we have exciting
news – almost all competitions are now
directly aligned to Nationals!

Check out all of our social media
accounts! Keep us updated on

FEA-Ohio loves to blow up the
social media feeds!
Meet Your Officers!
Josh Childs, President, is a senior at Perry High
School. In his spare time he loves to hit the dance
floor and bust a move! His debating skills are
superb from four years on the debate team and as
a class representative for his school. Josh will be
majoring in Middle Childhood Education after
graduation.
Samantha Shaw, Vice President, is a senior at
Gahanna Lincoln High School. She absolutely
loves being around kids and enjoys to run. She
spends all of her spare time at the track training to
become a college athlete, keeping her focus on
the goal of the next level. Samantha will be
majoring in Early Childhood Education after
graduation.
Blaze Kissell, Recording Secretary, is a senior at
Fairfield High School-Butler Tech. He is a hard
worker and always pushes himself to be the best.
He is also the President of his local FEA and
JSA(Junior State of America) chapters. Blaze hopes
to inspire all of his future students to appreciate
the values of learning as a Middle Childhood
Educator.
Brandi Norman, Public Relations Secretary, is a
senior at Milford High School-Great Oaks. She
loves to be the helping hand and someone that
anyone can count on. She is the Data Administrator
for Whiz Kids in her local area, and the Copresident of her local FEA chapter. She can’t wait
to see the impact she has on her future students.
Brandi is planning on majoring in Early Childhood
Education after graduating because of her love for
kids.
Delegate Assembly –
what’s that all about?
So you all have heard about the
Delegate Assembly several
times, but what in the world is
it!? The Delegate Assembly
plays a very important role, not
only in electing the next year’s
officers but in making policy
changes that have a direct
impact on all FEA Ohio
members/chapters. The
Delegate Assembly is the
governing body of the whole
organization. Each chapter has
the opportunity to send two
delegates at the state
conference and should
exercise that right to vote!
Meet the State Officers’ Advisors!
When one is elected to be a state officer, the advisor then becomes a member of the
Executive Committee for that school year. This committee is the driving force that
prepares competitions and rubrics, aligning them as closely as possible to FEA
National. These women to the left have been working all summer preparing the
competitions that will be out soon. In addition to competitions, they play pivotal roles
in guiding the officers while planning the state conference as well as the upcoming
policy changes that will be discussed at the Delegate Assembly. Although their time
is volunteered, they spend countless hours trying to make FEA Ohio a memorable
experience for all chapter members.
