The Family Resource Center, a Fond du Lac Area United Way & Fond du Lac Area Foundation agency partner is pleased to announce 3 new employees that have started this fall: Michaela Cords, Michelle Morris & Brenda Getz. Michaela Cords is the new Hispanic Outreach Specialist. Michaela will be working primarily with Spanish speaking families in the Parents as Teachers program available through the FRC. Michaela is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she received her diploma as a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Concentration in Business. Last fall she spent three months studying abroad in San José, Costa Rica -- an experience that greatly influenced her interest in this position. While in Costa Rica her passion for Hispanic culture and the Spanish language heightened and has always had a passion for helping others, and she’s excited to be able to give back to the community through the Family Resource Center. Michelle Morris is the new Parents as Teachers Educator. Michelle, the mother of two girls, ages nine and four, knows how important it is to prepare children early for success in school and in life. Drawing from her experiences as a parent and her experiences as the oldest child in a large family, she prides herself in her resourcefulness in finding activities for her own children and looks forward to helping parents in Fond du Lac learn more about age-appropriate activities to do with their children. Brenda has recently moved to the Fond du Lac area and brings 8+ years of experience working with children and families. Brenda is one of the Family Life Educators at the Family Resource Center in Fond du Lac County, and will be bringing a new perspective to parenting such as collaborative community outreach, relationship classes and one on one parenting support held through the FRC. Through parenting herself and her years of experience, Brenda understands the difficult challenge of parenting and enjoys helping parents navigate through the challenges to the successes. I encourage each and every one of you to participate in our classes, workshops, programs and our family fun events that are held throughout the year! We would not be able to offer our programs, if it wasn’t for our donors, grant support and your participation. Thank you! Join us at the Family Resource Center (FRC) for classes, workshops and fun family events! All programs and services at FRC are free, unless otherwise indicated.
