FTZ offers significant benefits over a Bonded Warehouse :
-Duty Free Storage allowing Just in Time Delivery : Import and store cargo for upto 5 years in FTZ without
paying customs duty or interest. Keep products close to your customers and cut down delivery lead time.
-Multiple Tax Exemptions : Upfront SAD deferment on imports through FTZ, Service Tax exemption on storage
in FTZ, handling & transportation from Port to FTZ, Stamp Duty Exemption on FTZ storage.
-Value Added Services – Perform activities such as packaging, labelling, tagging, invoicing, bundling,bubble
wrapping, painting,bottling, consolidation etc which are not allowed in a Bonded Warehouse.
-Stock & Sale – Stock up in FTZ for upto 5 years and invite customers to inspect the goods and purchase
directly from FTZ. Sell on account of a foreign entity ; no need to obtain Permanent Establishment in India.
Transactions can be made in multiple currencies as FTZ is a deemed foreign territory.
-Vendor Managed Inventory – Availability of stock as and when required by your buyer.
-Quality Control prior to duty payment – Avoid paying duty on rejected products and reduce reverse logistics

cost and skill arbitrage. Consolidate products in the FTZ in India to reduce logistics cost.
-Value Added Services – Perform re-packaging, re-labelling, re-invoicing, re-furbishing, painting, bottling,
wrapping,consolidation etc before onward distribution. VAS exempt from Service Tax.
-Tax Exemptions : Custom & Stamp Duty exemption on products re-exported from FTZ ; Service Tax exemption
