Shearwall Anchor Bolt Installation Just Got Easier Introducing new pre-assembled anchor bolts and reusable anchor-bolt templates for the Strong-Wall® SB shearwall, both designed to make shearwall installation easier and more consistent. By using pre-assembled anchor bolts, installers no longer have to take valuable time assembling components, and inspectors can look at the head stamp to quickly identify length and material grade. To meet specific project demands, the SWSB-AB anchor bolts are offered in 7/8" and 1" diameters and in standard and high-strength steel. In tall stemwall applications where full embedment of an anchor bolt into the footing is required, Simpson Strong-Tie offers the SWSB-HSR anchor extension kit that includes ASTM A449 highstrength rod with a heavy hex nut fixed in place and a high-strength coupler nut. The new reusable SWSB anchor-bolt templates help accurately locate the SWSB-AB anchor bolts on the forms prior to the concrete pour to speed up installation and reduce placement mistakes. They also enable greater concrete flow when compared to traditional leave-in templates, reducing the chance of voids in the concrete, which can lessen its bearing capacity. Features: •• Removes much of the guesswork around Strong-Wall SB anchorage, ensuring a better installation •• Pre-assembled anchor bolts comply with ICC-ES ESR-2652 •• Head stamp includes bolt length, bolt diameter, and “HS” for High Strength (when specified) for easier installation and inspection •• Reusable templates save money and reduce concrete void issues •• Anchor templates available for interior/exterior, brick ledge and panel-form applications Top of concrete SWSB-RTPF (Panel Form) SWSB-RT (Exterior Installation) SWSB-RTBL (Brick Ledge) SWSB-RT (Interior Installation) F-L-SBABRT14 © 2014 SIMPSON STRONG-TIE COMPANY INC.
