His varied career includes work on projects ranging from independent, single-camera documentaries such as the critically acclaimed PBS series Lords of the Mafia, to pilots and specials such as MTV’s Paris Hilton’s My New BFF Thanksgiving Special, to series such as Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin and Sea Rescue on ABC stations, Lucky Dog, Innovation Nation with Mo Rocca and Game Changers with Kevin Frazier on CBS and the syndicated strip Judge Karen’s Court. He has worked on hundreds of hours of non-fiction programming for many cable nets including Sci Fi, TNT, VH1, The Weather Channel, GSN, G4, Travel Channel and Comedy Central, as well as live, multi-camera projects for all four U.S. broadcast networks including the Academy Awards and the primetime Emmy Awards. Doyle was a pioneer of the televised poker boom, having produced ten distinct poker programs for four different networks including NBC’s Poker Superstars Championship and ESPN’s U.S. Poker Championships. Recently, Doyle has been active developing and producing branded television and web based projects including Meow Mix’s Think Like A Cat Game Show on GSN, Quaker’s Amazing Mornings with Bob Harper streaming on Facebook and the YouTube premium content series, Judge Sapp, for The NOC (Network Of Champions). Doyle was the head of program development and production for Discovery Network’s Animal Planet. In that position, Doyle was charged with overseeing all aspects of Animal Planet’s program development and production including managing the development and production teams, overseeing the development of new content and production of all programs, serving as executive producer on select projects and working closely with all affiliated divisions to realize the network’s programming strategies and financial goals. During his time at Animal Planet, Doyle had breakthrough success with a variety of projects including the network’s Emmy® nominated Dragon’s: A Fantasy Made Real. Also, Meerkat Manor, the critically acclaimed wildlife docu-soap series that Doyle brought to the network, was watched by more households than any other series premiere in the network’s history and continued to perform so well in subsequent seasons that it spawned a feature film Meerkat Manor: The Story Begins. Additionally, David was instrumental in developing timely programs on topical issues such as Tsunami: Animal Instincts and Animal Planet Heroes: Hurricane Rescues & Hurricane Reunions as well as whimsical programs the likes of The World’s Ugliest Dog Competition, and the counter-programming stunt Puppy Bowl that garners over 13.5 million viewers on Super Bowl Sunday annually. Under Doyle’s watch, content improvements and ratings goals were achieved on such network program stalwarts as Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, Planet’s Funniest Animals and the Animal Cops franchise. Previously, David produced two radio morning shows in San Diego, California and one of the first daily webbased comedy shows for MSN entitled Second City Headline News. He began his show business career as an award-winning comedian & magician performing at clubs and colleges across the nation and made guest appearances on several national television programs. Doyle majored in Communications at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona. He is a member of the Producer’s Guild of America, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Screen Actor’s Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Academy of Magical Arts.
