Karthi GAJENDRAN President, Airport Development GVK Group Karthi Gajendran is currently serving as the President, Airport Development for GVK Group. In this role, Mr. Gajendran is responsible for development and delivery of major capital programs as well as new business development. GVK is the largest private airport operator in India. Under the Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) Program GVK owns and manages India’s busiest airport, the Mumbai International Airport and India’s fastest growing airport, Bangalore International Airport. GVK is responsible for financing, developing and operating these airports under a 60 years concession with Government of India. GVK is also developing a Greenfield airport in Yogyakarta in collaboration with Government of Indonesia. Further GVK is responsible for operations & management of non aeronautical facilities at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. Mr. Gajendran is responsible for managing the multibillion dollar development and expansion program. Prior to joining GVK in 2010, Mr. Gajendran was a Senior Vice President at CH2M HILL, a Fortune 500, global leader in full‐service engineering, construction, procurement and program management. Mr. Gajendran spent 10 years as the Commercial & Operations Director for Europe & Middle East operations and also served as a Board Director of CH2M HILL’s subsidiaries. Among his many assignments, Mr. Gajendran has been involved in a senior role, providing advice and successful delivery of major projects and capital programs in Europe, Middle East, Central Asia and South Asia for public and private sector clients. In 2006, Mr. Gajendran relocated to India and was responsible for establishing CH2M HILL’s India operations as their Managing Director. Under Mr. Gajendran’s leadership CH2M HILL received the special commendation for the coveted Golden Peacock Award in occupational health and safety for 2010. Prior to joining CH2M HILL, Mr. Gajendran spent 8 years with WPP Group PLC, the global leader in marketing services and their subsidiary Hill & Knowlton as the Chief Financial Officer for Central & Eastern European operations.
