five(9)s Depot Explorer
With the five(9)s Depot Explorer you have a solution available that makes it easy and simple to keep the
LANDESK software depots clean and tidy without the fear to break distribution packages when deleting files
from the source depot. The five(9)s Depot Explorer (DEX) was developed with the LANDESK administrator
and the packaging professionals in mind who always strive to get the best out of LANDESK´s software
distribution features.
Once installed, you only have to configure the LANDESK Database and the “root” UNC Path of your primary
package source on the application´s configuration screen. The DEX user interface consists of 2 panes: The
left pane shows initially all the content of your package source root. The icon in front of each entry shows
immediately whether its content (in case the entry is an directory) or, if the entry represents a file, the entry
itself is part of a distribution package. A red “X” represents an package source element which is not used in
any distribution package and could be deleted without breaking any other LANDESK distribution package.
To get the information in which packages the files from any left hand entry are used, just click on one entry
and the five(9)s Depot Explorer´s right pane lists all the LANDESK distribution packages which makes use of
the files from the selected entry.
