Minutes General Membership Meeting
SEPTEMBER 17TH, 2014
1) Meeting opened at 7PM in the Knights Room in HGA Parish Center by DGK Mersinger.
Meeting opened with a prayer and Pledge of Allegiance by Father Kravatz.

3) Warden’s Report on Membership Cards – Kroenig, two possible new recruits for 1st
degree & 4 prospects. Need to schedule 1st degree now. Bob Widler approved for
transfer.
4) Chaplain’s Report – Msgr. Hartgen, requested to replace margarine with butter at our
breakfast.
5) Deputy Grand Knight’s Report – no new report
6) Report of Admissions – no new report
7) Treasurer’s Report – Semmel, Working Capital $4430.00, General Savings $1742.34,
Reserved Savings $1981.14, September Breakfast, Income = $2000.00 Expenses =
$999.33, Profit = $1000.67
8) Financial Secretary’s Report – no new report
9) Chancellor’s Report – Ed Bender, ARC Donation’s down do to use of debit cards. Possible
alternative is to request donations at each store to be taken at cash registers at check
out.

REPORT OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
18) Vocation’s Committee – Harper, Jr. will sell CD’S at breakfast. Also available upon
request.
19) Knight’s Presence at Baptism – Father Kravatz requested us to communicate prior to the
mass who will attend the baptism for the knights.
20) Soccer Challenge – Flynn reported, we do not have coverage! We need General Liability
Insurance to have this event!
21) Breakfast Committee – Harper, Jr., reported the troubles at the breakfast with
dishwasher help & cleaners help needed. October breakfast will include blood drive. Bill
Hertzog made pre-sale tickets for the breakfast on Oct 12th. Pre-Sale tickets are a $1 off.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
22) Football Frenzy – Askey – Tickets need to be returned by Oct 8th, for Oct 26 Kickoff.
23) Newsletter – Stinsky, Cinelli – Still need 2 members to help with the organizing of this
quarterly publication.
24) KCIC – Ed Bender, Ready to go with his current inventory.
25) COAL Tickets – Vote to buy 50 books of coal tickets. Kroenig motion to buy 50 books @
$5/book of unsold tickets. Tickets will be submitted as a council, if we win, we will
action the winning ticket off. Bennett 2nd motion passed.
26) Voter Registration Weekend – Mersinger, forms available to distribute after all of the
masses on the 27th & 28th of September.
27) 40 HOURS at HGA – Harper, Knights needed to help with of the preparation of the meal
for the priests, Tuesday, September 30th. Set up at the hall between 3PM – 4PM.
28) Rib Night – no report
29) GAGC Cards – Reminder to use them, a great way to raise cash for the Parish.
30) Board Member Placards – Bennett, motioned to purchase placards for the officers.
Motion did not pass.
31) Liability Insurance for our council – Flynn, reported the council and its members do not
have any Liability protection for council activities. A quote was presented to Cinelli for a
General Liability Policy costing $205.00/year for a one million dollar General Liability
Policy. Bennett motioned to purchase the GL Policy so we are protected now. Bender
2nd the motion, the motion passed. Cinelli will continue his research and gather
additional quotes from other carriers.
NEW BUSINESS:
32) $500.00 Scholarship for HGA Students – Semmel, motioned a $500 donation to the
School from the October breakfast proceeds, motioned passed. Knights will present the
check to Mrs. Maureen Wallin at the October breakfast.
33) Letterhead for our council – Mersinger created the Council letterhead. All approved, very nice
job.
DISTRICT DEPUTY’S REPORT:
34) Bennett motioned to continue the Keep Christ in Christmas coloring contest going with
the school. Harper 2nd the motion, the motion passed.
CLOSING PRAYER:
35) Father Kravatz offered the closing prayer for the council.

37) September 30th – 40 Hours at Holy Guardian Angels
38) October 1st – Planning Meeting, 7PM
