MOODLE Archive:- Getting Started with Moodle
Log in to your courses: Go to : http://moodle.fue.edu.eg/
 Press the “Login” link on the top right.
 Enter you Username and Password then press the “Login” button.
 Your username is same as your FUE Email credentials.

 You will then be redirected to your courses’ home page where you select your
course of preference

Managing your Course
 After selecting your course you will be directed to a page like this

1. Settings Block
- Turn editing on
- Start customizing your course
- Edit Settings
- Edit your Course Settings
- Completion Tracking
- Enables you to set course completion criteria
- Teachers can allow students to mark the course
as complete
- Users
- Groups: allows you to create groups and set
group permissions
- Other Users: allows instructors to add a teaching
assistant (TA)
- Grades
- Managing and setting students' grades
- Generating Grader and outcome reports
- Importing and exporting grade sheets
- Question Bank
- Create single questions
- Create a set of questions in a category
- Import questions from a file or external resource
- Export questions to a file
- Backup
- Allows instructors to backup the whole course
- Allows instructors to choose what course items/materials they
wish to backup
- Restore
- Allows instructors to restore the whole course
- Import
- Allows instructors to import content from a backup course file
whether from a Moodle course or another Course
Management course.
- Importing materials should be in .ZIP format

Repositories
- Shows your private files, upload files, recent files, and other external
repositories for you to pick from and use in your course using the file picker

Switch Role to
- Allows instructors to switch temporarily to another role, to view the course
from that user/role perspective

My Profile Settings
- Edit user profile settings
- Adding User Picture
- Messages: to configure notification messages
- Blogs: Setting blogs preferences

2. Navigation Block
- Quick access to the user enrolled courses (drop down menu)
- My Home: returns to the user course homepage
- FUE : link to participants, notes, tags calendar, site news
- My Profile:
- View user profile
- View Forum posts
- View Discussion posts
- View blog posts/ adding new blog entries
- Search for Moodle users and send them messages
- Manage your private files
- My Courses: lists all user's enrolled courses to select from
- Within each course link, you can generate reports:
- Activity Report
- Logs
- Participation Report
- Statistics
- You can also view the list of enrolled users or participants in the course.
3. Turn editing on (from the top right corner)
- Small editing icons will appear
To edit title label.
To Delete.
To move right.
To separate groups.
To move UP or down.
To assign roles.
To update.
To show your week.
To duplicate.
To highlight topics.
To hide your week.

- A regular search within the course forums

- A general course forum, to add announcements and
new home page for students.
6. Upcoming Events
- Shortcut to view the calendar or quickly add a new even.
7. Recent Activity
- Shows the user's latest accessed activity
8. My Private Files
- Shortcut to directly access user private files folder
9. Activities
- Lists all current activities added by the instructor
