Welcome
CBMF Red Hot Chili Pepper consigned by
Ted Heinrich in 2013 was 2014 Grand Champion
Mare at Morgan Masterpiece for Norm and
Suzanne Hammond.
Doc and I feel that this year’s auction
has a diverse selection of horses in age,
discipline, size, and color. We have quality
horses and very respectable consignors in
the Morgan breed. We are happy to welcome
new consignors Lynn and Kathleen Peebles,
Melissa Lambrecht and clients, Norman and
Suzanne Hammonds, and Jonalyn Gwinup
and client. We appreciate the support from
past consignors of Arcola Farm, Rustic View
Farm, Wingait Farm, Bonnie Anderson,
Oldfield Morgans, Dan Yoder, Tripoly Morgan
Farm, and of course HyLee Farm.
The staff at HyLee Farm and the Bill and
Terry Addis crew I feel have helped make
this sale a connection for future contacts.
Last year I had one consignor let me know that it was so nice to have time to visit
with people at the auction about her breeding program and that it has been very
helpful in the marketing of her horses at home. We try to make it so that the seller
has all the time to spend marketing their horse, with the Friday night preview being
a great time for prospective buyers to try riding a horse or inquire more information.

Not much more can be said for someone who was just going to have one auction
in 2008 and now six years later to still be doing it. It cannot be done without the
incredible staff I have at HyLee Farm. Melanie Jelle, Tasha Smazinski, Lavern
Stampfli, Meg and Emma Blankschein, have been here from the beginning.
Again, the one thing I am pleased about the
auction is the number of new or renewed
Morgan owners who have resulted from
the purchases of these fine Morgans. It is
important to the breed that this happens.
We have sold horses here who are still
winning in the show ring, have taken on new
occupations such as carriage driving, have
given a youth a horse to start with, one horse
is a high end cross country competitor, and
others are producing great offspring and
placing high in the Gala competition at
the Jubilee.
Thank you for consigning and also for coming
to purchase a horse. You all are what makes
this breed continue to grow.
1
HyLee’s Howaboutthat is the perfect horse for Judy
Gauger. She came to purchase a horse in 2014
that she could go to horse shows, do everything
herself. He has proven to be a winner for her!

Consignor: HyLee Farm

“Bam Bam” is a handsome fellow who is ready for the owner who wants to perfect
their riding skills and loves to trail ride. “Bam” has been used in our lesson program
and has had a number of riders who have become more advanced in their abilities
through the instructor’s direction and Bam’s sensitivity to aids. He was shown saddle
seat but prefers hunt and loves to cover the trails. He is unflappable to rustling
leaves, deer, and wild turkeys. He is happy riding along or with a companion rider.
He has a nice trot to sit and a very comfortable canter. He has been in the show ring,
but it isn’t his favorite or most comfortable arena to be in.

Gossip Girl
#0176007
Foaled: 2006 ! Sex: Mare ! Color: Bay
Consignor: Ron and Kirsten Johnson
Gossip Girl is by the grand stallion Serenity Masterpiece, and out of the Cedar Creek
Harlequin mare AFF Savannah. She is a truly royally bred mare. Her first foal was
a filly by Town Assets called “Patrick’s Girl.” This was a special mare as she won
the World Championship 3-year-old Hunter Pleasure at the 2013 Grand Nationals
with Kathy Peeples of Waterford Farm. We have had two stretchy bay foals from her
since and decided this year to breed her back to this golden cross so she could have
another foal by the stallion Town Assets. The foal she is carrying is sure to be a
big, beautiful, and talented foal for her next owner. Gossip Girl is at a prime age
of 8 years old and that means she has plenty of fertile years to produce more
wonderful babies. She has been easy to get in foal, very healthy, easy to handle, and
is an exceptional mother. This mare gets along with other horses well, and has been
an easy keeper in the field. You will find that this mare will be one of the sweetest
to be around, and will love attention and people of all ages. If you want a well-bred
broodmare who is kind and easy to manage, Gossip Girl is the one!

Foaled: 2009 ! Sex: Mare ! Color: Chestnut
Consignor: Bonita J. Anderson
Rush River Cantata, aka “Connie,” was first shown as a weanling in 2009 at the
North Star Breeder’s Sweepstakes. Connie is good with the farrier and vet, stands
well in cross ties, is easy to clip, and loads well on the trailer. She has been started
under saddle but does not drive. This summer she spent 60 days in training with
Robin Secrist adapting to the life of a trail horse. She climbed the huge bluffs along
Lake Pepin, learned how to go through water and over obstacles, and how to stand
patiently when tied. Connie would be suitable for a confident youth rider to join her
on the trails. At time of sale she will have an additional 45 days of work under saddle.
Connie is royally bred. Her top line traces back to Stonecroft Masquerade, and her
dam’s grandsire was the great stallion, The Buckeye. She inherits her beauty from
her sire, Century Nightmusic and his dam Appleton Baroness. Her conformation is
correct. She has the potential to make an excellent broodmare.

This filly comes from a serious line of champions! Sired by Mizrahi – not enough
adjectives to describe what he has done – and out of HyLee’sTearjerker, who has had
two champions by Hylee’s Galaxy Seven. Her grandam, HyLee’s Teardrop, produced
HyLee’s Dan Right, HyLee’s Blood Sweat and Tears, HyLee’s Showtime, HyLee’s
Hill Street Blues, HyLee’s Lock N’ Load, HyLee’s The Biggest Bang, and HyLee’s
Zerelda James, this filly will hit the jackpot for her new owner. Downsizing forces me
to sell this big, strong, talented filly. So with her will go a part of my heart. She should
mature about 15:2 at least and if someone takes his or her time she will garner a
World Championship in the future. I predict English pleasure early on and possible

HyLee’s Bushmill or “Whiskey” per his barn name is a 4-year-old gelding who stands
close to 16 hands. He looks a lot like his grandfather, HVK Fancy Dan, with a touch
of Noble Flaire through his sire, HyLee’s Rare Flaire. He is a very handsome guy, full
bodied with a great length of leg, a pretty head and eye, and cute little ears. He has a
nice balanced way of moving and with his size is able to really cover ground when in
motion.
Whiskey was shown successfully in hand as a yearling, winning the Yearling Colt
Open and Futurity class at North Star in 2011. The last couple of years he has
been in training to prepare him for a continued show career. We started him slowly
because he continued to grow…and grow! As a 3-year-old he was broke to drive and
has now been started under saddle. He will have 45 days of training under saddle at
time of the sale. I believe he will excel as a very competitive hunter, western pleasure,

Smaland Pina Colada is a 2004 cremello mare. She exhibits classic Morgan type with
nice refinement and correct structure. Her sire is a western working bred horse and
her dam is the lovely Smaland Joyful Joyful, sired by Sir’s Sunny, a well-respected
palomino stallion with several crosses going back to War Hawk. She is a half-sister to
our winning carriage driving stallion Red Rose Moonshine.
“Peanut” was bred to be a broodmare, so her training was not a priority. She has been
hitched to drive five times and by sale date she will have had 45 days under saddle.
She will be a nice western or hunt, family, 4-H, and trail horse. She stands at the gate
waiting for attention and is easy to handle and work with. She is UTD on vaccinations,
deworming, and hoof care.
For those interested in color breeding, Pina Colada is a double dilution crème.
This means she will produce the palomino color 100% of the time when bred to a

Someone else besides HyLee will reap the benefits and enjoyment of this yearling
filly. She has a strong and predictable future because of the history of her granddam;
HVK Black Fantasy and her dam have produced. Sired by ZZ Top, this filly will have
good size and an elegant way about her. Her future leans toward the western division
or hunt. All her prior family has been western or hunt and has gone into junior
exhibitor/amateur families. She is a full sister to a high-selling yearling colt last year,
HyLee’s Contender. She will follow in the names of the following: HyLee’s Fan Flaire,
Fancrest Rare Edition, HyLee’s Goldmine, HyLee’s Take Command, Something’s Got

Casenova is a 5-year-old gelding who is well broke to saddle. We had hoped to show
him but time restraints have made it difficult to get him show ring ready, therefore we
are offering this beautiful gelding, sired by World Champion Mucho Uno, available
for this sale. Out of our Whispering Whammunition daughter, Whispering Wait and
See, he is bred to be a performance horse. He has been out on the trails this past
summer and has been ridden by many different riders. Everyone loves him! Tune
him up this winter and he will be ready for the show ring this spring, or simply hit the
trails with him.

#184611
Foaled: 2011 ! Sex: Gelding ! Color: Bay
Consignors: Ron and Kirsten Johnson
Photo: Courtney Church Photography
Aerie Meadow High Roller, or Roger as we call him, is a beautiful 3-year-old bay
gelding by the multi-World Champion SYP High Definition and out of the beautiful
mare, Mantic Angelina. This colt has wonderful qualities already noticeable at his
young age. Physically he has refined features, good conformation, and that beautiful
Morgan head and expressive eye we really like to see. He has been a very easy horse
to train. Roger was shown in hand by an amateur as a yearling, he took to driving
as a 2-year-old like a champ, and has been riding this year in a similar easy-going
manner. We learned right away that he was going to be an easy horse to bridle and
motion would not be a problem for him. This is evident when you watch him in the
ring. This year Roger has been ridden in the English pleasure division in two shows
with several blues to his name. He clearly has natural motion and loves to go to work
every day. Another quality this gelding possesses is that he has an abundance of
energy and forward motion. He goes and goes, whether he is being driven or ridden,
and he does both jobs very well. We think he will only get stronger as he matures.

HyLee’s At Last
#0161178
Foaled: 2003 ! Sex: Mare ! Color: Bay
Consignor: HyLee Farm
Photo: Debbie
It is only through downsizing that At Last is offered for sale. She is the last producing
daughter of Jane Steffenhagen’s program. As a young horse she was unbeatable
in hand garnering several Grand Championships beginning as a yearling. I always
asked Mom, “when do you want us to start her in harness or saddle?” To which she
commented “She doesn’t need to do anymore than show in hand to make me happy
and she will be a great broodmare.” So as the grand matron of HyLee predicted
she has proven to be a very good producer and she still has that tremendous trot
with extreme hocks and up headed way of going that pleased my mother. She has
had two colts by HyLee’s Rare Flaire and they are both very athletic. HyLee’s Pin
Oak Dude was the winner of the North Star Yearling Sweepstakes and Yearling Colt
Futurity in 2013. Her foal this year is a filly sired by The Biggest Bang (Born to
Boogie x HyLee’s Teardrop). This filly reflects strongly her sire’s side and has her
mother’s trot. I see this mare’s offspring always having her talent and hocks and
up headedness and spark. I feel strongly after breeding her that she will allow the
stallion to stamp the foal and also give to the good things the stallion offers. She is
in foal to ZZ Top for 2015. She has always bred easily, doesn’t need to be on any
hormones, foals easily, and is good with her foals. I would wish the new owner to visit
with me about her before she leaves the farm.

your bid on an early lot is successful, we will not continue to bid on other lots for you.
Or, if your early bids are unsuccessful, we will continue to execute bids for alternative

numbers appear in the catalog.
Please place your bids as early as possible. In the event of identical bids, the earliest
received will take precedence.
