New Brand
Interativa has a new face. Reinforcing the importance of working
as a unit of IMI Critical Engineering, last September was carried
out the launching of the new logo.
IMI Critical Engineering Division where, with the force of our
matrix IMI and together with our sister companies, we are able to
develop a work even more efficient.
Now we introduce ourselves as IMI INTERATIVA and we belong to
Every company pertaining to IMI plc Group was using its own
logo. The fact of having different company name logos and
brands could confuse our customers.
INTERATIVA, IMI ORTON, IMI TRUFLO RONA and so forth.
This will provide substantial benefits. It will enable customers to
know that we are part of the same group in order we can promote
ourselves more easily and effectively.
Although it is of the utmost importance to keep and respect
every one of our brands and products, we shall align them in
order to share the IMI name as identity of a common brand.
A unique IMI brand shall keep us united and will make us
stronger and recognized.
It is important to highlight that although we are changing the
name and logo of our main brands, we are not changing company
names.
All company names shall have the word IMI at the beginning: IMI

PGQMSA
PGQMSA – What is it?
Inspired in Canadian Standards of Quality Assurance arising from
nuclear area, in 2002, Petrobras launched a Program of Quality
Assurance for Associated Materials and Services, in order to
purge and update suppliers list, aiming particularly operational
reliability growth through quality improvement of materials
purchased. Ever since, PGQMSA became a reference, recognized
and used for several market segments.
Based on periodical audits that focus on product and carried out
by a team of specialists in Management System and
Specification, Operation and Maintenance of equipment supplied
by the audited company, these audits deeply assess key sectors
of production process such as: Quality Management System,
Design Technology, Manufacturing Process Technology,
Inputs/Acquisition, Manufacture Training, Customer Service and
Associated Services.
IMI INTERATIVA already received two PGQMSA audits and was
approved in both. This year 2014, to accomplish IMI Orton
registration in Petrobras CRCC (Certificate of Registration and
Record Classification), a team of Petrobras specialists was in
Piacenza – Italy carrying out an assessment audit in order to
verify the ability to meet Petrobras supply requirements. Our
Directors, Luiz Fernando Vitali and Fabio Zaina were
accompanying this audit with the purpose to transmit to our
colleagues of IMI Orton the experience lived in our facilities.
IMI Orton team, headed by Giusepe Crespiatico – Quality System
Manager – had the chance to demonstrate to auditors the
technical and operative structure during the five day audit,
obtaining an excellent assessment and accomplishing therefore
the CRCC acquisition process initiated a year ago. Our internal
collaborator, Izabel Ribeiro was the coordinator of this process.
Mueller Training
On August, our collaborator, Bruno Donizete of IMI INTERATIVA
accompanied our customer COMGAS and joined to a Mueller training in
U.S.A. It was a specific training for the products our customer uses.
In this work it was possible to improve the use of equipment for hot-tapping
and provide IMI INTERATIVA technical/operative support.
REPAR Refinery
We have recently received the visit of Mr. Matteo Boiocchi (IMI Truflo Rona –
Italy) and taking advantage of his staying in Brazil, He joined to Mr. Stefano
Cesena of IMI Orton and Mr. Bruno Donizete of IMI INTERATIVA and made a
visit to REPAR Refinery located in Araucária, Paraná State.
In the visit, a display of products of the companies pertaining to IMI Critical
Engineering was carried out: IMI INTERATIVA displayed Butterfly Valves, IMI
ORTON, Triple-Eccentric Valves and IMI TRUFLO RONA, that closed the
training and divulgated the brand, displayed Special Ball Valves.

Pull-tab Donations
In an act of solidarity and during 3 months IMI INTERATIVA
collected from its collaborators pull-tabs of aluminum cans to
donate to COMAS (Social Assistance Municipal Commission) of
Votorantim city, São Paulo State.
Below, see the note released by COMAS on its facebook page,
regarding to donation received from IMI INTERATIVA.
In an internal action that encouraged collaboration with the campaign Cool Pull-tab of Votorantim city, IMI INTERATIVA
collaborators were able to fill almost four pet bottles of aluminum can pull-tabs. This quantity was collected in about three months,
divulgation was by e-mail and collecting bottles were put in the company dining hall. Delivery of material to Social Assistance
Municipal Commission (COMAS) was on Tuesday (September 23rd).
Maria Leonilde Braz, Supervisor of human resources of the company says she heard about COMAS campaign through a radio
station. After informing herself on how to participate of the initiative, she used the strategy to communicate the approximately 80
collaborators of the company located in the neighborhood of Aparecidinha, Sorocaba city. Hélio da Silva Ferreira, one of the
collaborators says he asked for help to his father and grandmother, who
collect recyclables. “They didn't know the campaign existed, I explained
them how the campaign consisted of, and they began to collect pull-tabs to
give me”, says Hélio.
According to Leonilde, it is a satisfaction to involve the company in solidarity
actions and the feeling of helping as a team is always more valuable joining
forces to the purpose of helping others. According to her, the collection will
continue in the company.
Cool Pull-tab (Lacre Legal) campaign is in effect a year ago in Votorantim city
and already has managed to collect pull-tabs to change for ten wheelchairs.
140 PET bottles filled with pull-tabs equivalent to about 176 pounds (80
kilos) of aluminum are necessary to change for a wheelchair. The material is
sent to Highway Concessionaire of Viaoeste CCR Group that maintains Pulltab Solidarity Program. In two years, the concessionaire already allocated 62
wheelchairs for various cities. Votorantim was the city that collected more at
the moment.

Lean Manufacturing
Thinking on improving results performance, on August, IMI
INTERATIVA collaborators had Lean Manufacturing training.
Lean definition, Muda is “all activities that increase cost and do
not add value for the customer”.
Lean Manufacturing (Produção enxuta) is one of the measures
that are being adopted in all companies belonging to IMI Group.
Lean Manufacturing is the term used for management system
focused on eliminating waste. And to give support we have
adopted some specific tools, mostly simple, with great potential
of result.
Activities that add value, transform raw material and information
in parts or products that the customer needs. And those that do
not add value, only consume resources, but do not contribute
directly to the product.
The management needs to be balanced and there are three main
categories that start with “Mu”: Muri (irregularity in demand:
over utilization of people and process), Mura (irregularity in the
process/Inequality) and Muda (waste), that is the main Mu. In
Culture of waste elimination brings excellent benefits to people
and companies. Safety, Quality and Productivity are always in
focus.
Check below some moments of the training, a little joke was
made between some collaborators to simulate certain situations
the company passes in day to day life.
5S Program
In continuity with Lean Manufacturing implantation, IMI
INTERATIVA collaborators went through 5S program training,
one of the bases of Lean Manufacturing.
5S Program is one of the basic tools of Lean Manufacturing, that
is, it helps to learn and practice concepts and tools for quality
improvement. That includes taking care of environments,
equipments, materials, methods, measures and specially
people. 5S program is represented by five Japanese words that
start with the letter “S” (Seiri – Sense of Selection/Use, Seiton –
Sense of Arrangement/Organization, Seiso - Sense of Cleaning,
Seiketsu – Sense of Health and Hygiene and Shitsuke – Sense of
Self discipline).

IMI INTERATIVA in my life!
Name:
Anderson
Pereira
de Godoy
Age: 49
Civil status:
Married
Profession:
Technical
Assistance
Company
Time:
9 years
Birth city:
Andirá – State
of Paraná
His first job in Sorocaba was in a large supermarket with the
position of safety surveyor and then, he became bazaar manager
and stayed in that position for five years.
By this time, Anderson met his wife Elizabete; they are together
23 years ago. From this relationship were born his two
daughters, Suelen who is 23 and Evelyn who is 22.
After leaving the job at the supermarket, Anderson bought a tow
truck and opened a company, but due to the crisis the country
suffered at the time, his business did not prosper.
Then he saw in an employment agency the release of a driver
vacancy at IMI INTERATIVA. He applied for the job and the same
day he was called for an interview where he was approved and
hired.
Who in IMI INTERATIVA does not know Anderson, the one who is
ready to help whatever the subject and situation? He is a
struggling, hardworking and educated man. Everyone has a
great affection for him.
Anderson was born in Andirá city, Paraná state, where he lived
with his parents and two brothers.
He was very young when he started his professional life. When he
was thirteen he already worked in a garage, with sixteen he went
to a battery factory, at seventeen he was steakhouse waiter.
When he was eighteen he served in the army in Curitiba city,
Paraná state. In that time, his parents moved to work in
Sorocaba city/ São Paulo state.
After serving the army, Anderson tried to stay in Curitiba in his
aunt's house but he didn't get a job, so he came to live with his
parents in Sorocaba.
Visits
IMI INTERATIVA receives important visitors and insists in register!
Ever since Anderson was driver, assembly assistant, help for
electric and hydraulic maintenance emergencies, he did the
street work, seeking materials from suppliers and customers. He
was Jack-of-all-trades.
Now Anderson works at the Technical Assistance Department. He
visits customers; he carries out products maintenance and
accompanies the assistance team in external works. People miss
Anderson when they need some “favor” out of the company,
because he is no longer a driver.
For the future he has a plan to go to live in Frade, a city in Angra
dos Reis/Rio de Janeiro state. But he is already preparing himself
for this goal. He has a plot in this place missing only the
construction of the house he and his family desire.
For Anderson, IMI INTERATIVA gave professional stability and
quality of life to his family. In his leisure time he enjoys to travel,
barbecue, always in presence of his family and friends.
