PURPOSE OF JOB
IOM Singapore is looking for an energetic and motivated Consultant (Occupational Hygiene Officer) to grow our
occupational hygiene (workplace safety and health) practices in Singapore. The candidate must have demonstrated
professional experiences in Occupational Hygiene and Workplace Safety and Health Management.
THE ROLE
This post requires an experienced professional with excellent communication skills to provide consultancy services
related to workplace safety and health (WSH), occupational hygiene (OH) and environmental management. The
successful applicant will have exciting opportunities to be involved in high-level consulting projects, within a longestablished organisation that has a worldwide reputation for excellence in occupational hygiene and health. Reporting
directly to the Head of Occupational Hygiene Singapore, the post holder will be providing consultancy services to
customers, carry out EHS audits and training. The position will give the post holder the opportunity to develop and
expand their professional competencies.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES:

Provide consultancy services related to OH and WSH to customers including these responsibilities:



Perform duties as OH Officer/WSH Officer/Consultant to customers
Assist customers to develop and implement OH/WSH programs and management systems
Assist customers to in risk consulting and assessments

To represent IOM internally and externally, as required

Conduct OH, WSH assessments, audits and inspections at customers workplaces

Conduct OH, WSH trainings, briefings and meetings

Develop OH, WSH training courses and materials

Support various operations and business functions in the Singapore Office

To undertake other duties as allocated by management appropriate to the role or any other reasonable duty
within the framework of the post

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The post is subject to conditions of service agreed by the Board of Management of IOM.
Salary: Within the range of$3500 - $4000 depending on skills and experience
Grade: Consultant
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Duration: The post is initially offered as a fixed term contract for 12 months
Holiday entitlement: 14 days plus gazetted, public holidays
The post is most suited to Singaporean Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Diploma/Bachelor Degree in engineering, science or EHS related field
WSQ Specialist Diploma in Occupational Hygiene (Required)
Registered WSH Officer, Singapore (Advantageous)
Registered Environmental Control Officer, Singapore (Advantageous)
Approved risk assessor (Advantageous)
Approved EHS, WSH auditor (Advantageous)
3 or more years work experience in OH, WSH Management
1 or more years work experience in OH, WSH Consulting
Working within quality systems (ISO14001, OSHAS18001, SS506 or similar)
Experience in performing OH surveys
Experience in performing WSH inspections, audits
Experience in conducting OH, WSH Trainings
Able to identify root causes and evaluated effectiveness of solutions
Ability to keep track of various projects and customers’ requirements
Excellent problem solving skills with proactive thinking
Excellent organisational and written skills
Excellent interpersonal, customer focused
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible and friendly approach
Ability to work to a high standard of accuracy and efficiency
