AWARDS CEREMONY
WHY MIGHT I WANT TO DO THIS?
IN BRIEF:
1.
Its never been easier to raise money for a good cause and have
fun!! The first two Escape for Goods raised over $40,000 with
just 20 people taking part along with the whole shebang being
put together in 3 weeks!
2.
Forget training for a marathon you don’t really want to do, or
crawling through stinging nettles whilst being electrocuted by
barbed wire to raise money… this is genuinely good fun.
3.
You get to dress up and BE a REAL hero for 3 whole days!
4.
The exposure is massive. Be you a celeb or brand, you can
watch your followers go through the roof as we target 1 million
plus people over the course of the race.
5.
How? Cross promotion and partnerships. We work with the
biggest brands, networks and charities. Each time you or your
company capture and publish something fun during the race,
we cross-publish it and we ALL cross promote it. Then Sunshine
Sachs let the press know. All in aid of good causes.
6.
If you’re not convinced yet, how does a night partying in New
Orleans, followed by Graceland, followed by Detroit sound?
OK… Sold? Drop us a line. Let’s make it happen.
BIG
OUTREACH
It may just be that benefits and big charity concerts are a thing of the past…
Over the course of 24 hours the
Escape is broadcasted to millions
of online users via partnerships
with leading brands, networks
and charities who are all up for
amplifying the reach, fun and
fundraising efforts.
We geo-track every turn of your
Escape over 24 hours, and want
to hear everything - from funny
stories, photos, video, to people
you meet along the way who are
helping out your mission. We’ll
track you and your partner on
Instagram and Twitter, then
broadcast everything to the
entire ESCAPE community and
beyond.
Participants
range
from
celebrities to faithful members
of the Escape Community.

ESCAPE FOR GOOD’S HEROES 2012 & 2013
THE RULES
The Escape for Good rules are fairly simple. Disobey them
though and you will face immediate disqualification!!!
1. You are not allowed to use any of your own money. You are not allowed to make any form of
payment. If someone else gifts you a meal or a tank of gas / ticket this is fine.
2. Both team members must be present, registered at least 20 minutes prior to official start time.
3. Jet Plane Travel will be calculated on a 10:1 air mile to ground ratio (ex. 1500 air miles = 150 miles).
Any other form of air travel will be calculated as mile for mile.
4. Teams must raise a minimum of $250 for their charity to qualify for the start line.
5. You must check in every 30 minutes at the very least. We want to know how you’re doing and that
you’re still with us! What’s that you say? You’re in the luggage hold of a 757? Let us know when you’re
boarding any vehicle where you might not have Internet access for a while. You are of course encouraged
to share your adventure as often as you think entertaining, so don’t be shy!
6. You must be on the ground for your final check in. Its no good being half way to Australia, we will
judge your effort on how far you were from the start line on your last check in.
7. If you are riding a bicycle, skateboard or car… please remember that we drive on the right out here,
please follow US law – if you get arrested, we cannot help you.
8. You acknowledge that whilst you are a part of this event, out on the street you are a member of the
law-abiding masses. Shoplifting/littering/public nudity (why are you naked, anyway?) and blaming Escape
for Good will not wash.
9. The Escape for Good Team will determine distance traveled, including by using participant-reported
results through Twitter check-ins with geographical tracking. Any participants found to falsify their
locations at the conclusion of the event will be immediately disqualified. The Escape for Good team will
be tracking participants from the LA start line, and will assess distance traveled on a straight-line basis
from LA to participants’ endpoints plus any bonus award miles. As set out in the Escape for Good
participation agreements, the Escape for Good team may adjust the contest rules and methodologies
from time to time. This winners will be announced on April 11th at an award ceremony at Rock and
Reilleys.
10. All team members must remain in costume for the entire duration of the competition
11. Teams must check in at their final location no later than 24 hours from the start of the event. If a
team elects to end their travel early they may check in with #escape4g and #escape4gdone at any time
and that location will be their final distance travelled .
12. Remember that you are here to have a GREAT time and to raise a ton of money for charity, so go for
it!!!
