Planning For 2015
School Organisation/Provision
Planning for 2015 is well underway and the
Leadership team in consultation with staff will soon
be looking at models for school organisation in 2015.
This task is always challenging and complex and
must take into account a range of factors including
numbers of students and staffing requirements and of
course financial resources.
It is important that
schools do not go into deficit and so “balancing the
books” is critical.
Students Placement For 2015
The rationale in Kingsville’s Student Placement
Policy states:
“As students at Kingsville progress from prep to year
6 it is expected they will learn to work and relate to a
range of teachers and students. A cohesive learning
group that includes a range of abilities and interests
is the key factor in placing students in class groups
each year.”
Our purpose remains clear and we endeavour to
ensure students are placed in class groups that
maximise learning potential and engagement.
Current class teachers and specialists work together
to recommend placements taking into account
achievement levels, individual learning and
behavioural challenges as well as students who work
well together.
Please note that class groups are not allocated
teachers until class groups are formed, in other
words it is the dynamic of each group that is the
focus rather than the teacher. Classes will all be
ready for our “Step Up Program” in December. This
will provide students an opportunity to meet both their
new class mates and their teacher for 2015. Of
course this is dependent on all our positions being
filled.
