Black-necked Storks fly freely through this habitat and during breeding season, impressive displays can be seen. A meandering walkway allows visitors to experience different levels of the rainforest, from the forest floor to the canopy. Local species such as the endangered southern cassowary, the Boyd’s forest dragon and colourful eclectus parrots can be viewed in this natural setting. Here you can interact with and hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies. A host of wild native birdlife use the billabong as a sanctuary. Boardwalks overlook lagoons where both the estuarine and freshwater crocodiles lurk beneath the water or bask on the sunlit banks.
