JLT launches Shared Service Centre in Malaysia
[24th February 2014] Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) today announces the launch of its
second Shared Service Centre in Asia, to provide support for technical broking and claims
services, human resource and finance operations. The Centre is being launched in view of
the rapid growth and expansion of JLT’s business and product propositions across Asia.
JLT Asia CEO Duncan Howorth, said: “In the past few years, we have grown rapidly both
globally and in Asia, and we see this Shared Service Centre supporting our future growth
ambitions for the next five years and beyond. Malaysia was an obvious choice for many
reasons – the availability of a highly skilled talent pool, robust infrastructures, a
progressive establishment, as well as diverse language capabilities – all of which are
crucial for a service facility such as this.”
JLT’s first shared service centre was established in Mumbai, India in 2006. The JLTowned Centre provides a support infrastructure for operational/IT, human resources and
finance requirements. The Kuala Lumpur (KL) Shared Service Centre is another important
milestone in JLT’s ongoing efforts to ensure that there are highly efficient processes,
systems, and operating models in place, thereby freeing client-facing staff so that they can
provide value added consultative work to their clients.
The KL Shared Service Centre will provide support to JLT’s businesses across the 12
territories it has a presence in in Asia. The expansion of the Centre’s scope of services
and transaction volume will be in tandem with JLT’s business growth in the region.
Duncan added: “The Centre will help us achieve greater quality in our operations and
streamline our service delivery. A world class support facility such as this is absolutely
essential to our commitment to delivering Client First service.”
