WRITING IN A GROUP OR ON YOUR OWN?
› Groups of up to four persons are allowed
› Pros and cons
› It is not possible to split up or change groups once you have
registrered!
› You DO NOT have to identify which part each group member
wrote

› 1 student = 110,000 characters excl. blanks
› 2 students = 154,000 characters excl. blanks
› 3 students = 187,000 characters excl. blanks
› 4 students = 220,000 characters excl. blanks

› All parts of the main thesis (front page, abstract, list of content,
footnotes, references, etc.) count towards the total
› Only the appendices are excluded from the total
› NO “10% rules” (not valid for HA(jur.))
› Supervisor cannot give permission to write more than the
maximum limit

ORAL DEFENCE
› The oral defence is an individual evaluation of each student
based on group defence (when 2 or more students write
together).
› 1 student = 45 minutes
› 2 students = 60 minutes
› 3 students = 75 minutes
› 4 students = 90 minutes

› Departments’ list of supervisors is at your Study Portal

› Contact only the supervisors on the list
› Contact only one supervisor at a time
› Send a description of your project and possibly an initial
problem statement when you contact a potential supervisor

REGISTRATION
› You must registrer at Stads Selfservice (Stads Selvbetjening)
› If you sign up as a group, only one group member must sign up the
project group
› However, everyone must sign up individually and accept the group
at Stads Selfservice!!
› The actual registration as well as a thorough guideline for
registration will soon be available (we expect it to be around the 1st
of November). You will be notified via BlackBoard when it is ready.

IF YOU CANNOT FIND A SUPERVISOR
› If you cannot find a supervisor, you must still sign up for the
Bachelor’s thesis at Stads Selfservice
› Instead of selecting a supervisor at Stads Selfservice, you must write
a description of your project in order for the institute to provide you
with a supervisor
› A guideline for the above mentioned will be available at the Study
Portal soon
› There are enough supervisors for everyone, so use only this
procedure if it is absolutely crucial!!

› What does is mean to be head of project group?
To be the head of the project group means passing
important information from the department to the other
group members.
The one who signs up the group is the head of the
project group.

› Do I receive an receipt for the registration of the thesis?
Yes. Remember to print it out or save it as a PDF!

FAQ
› What happens if I do not hand in my bachelor thesis, get the
grade 00 or -3?
If you do not hand in or pass your bachelor’s thesis you will be
able to attend the retake exam. You will have to find a new
topic. The registration for the retake exam is July 1st 2015.
You cannot be accepted to the master program in September
2015 if you do not pass your bachelor’s thesis before
September 30th.
