A Contact list is a collec on of names or di onary of contacts that is usually hosted by the base sta on(s) so registered handsets can have access them provided they are within the base sta on coverage area. It should be noted, that it is possible to create customized contact list on individual handset which is independent from the one uploaded to the base sta on(s) (that is described fully in a different document). STEP 2 Open any standard browser and enter the address: on> h p://ipdect<MAC-Address-Basefor e.g. h p://ipdect00087B08600F. This will retrieve the HTTP Web Server page from the base st on with hardware address 00087B0 8600F . STEP 3 On the Login page, enter your auth Click OK bu on. g cr als (i.e. username and password). STEP 4 Once you have au ated, the browser will display front end of the SME Configu on Interface. The front end will show relevant inform on of the base st this case MAC-Addr: 00087B08600F as highlighted in the snap-shot below). on (in STEP 5 Create the relevant SIP server inform on in the system. Each service provider/customer should refer SIP server vendor on how to setup SIP servers. Version 0.22 Page | 3 Central Directory Contact List Structure The structure of Contact List is simple. The figure below shows an example of structure of Contact List in Text format and in Xml format. .txt .xml Central Directory Contact List Filename Format The Contact list is normally saved into a file. The format of the file is .txt format - i.e. normal plain text format or .xml format. Central Directory (Contact List) Interface STEP 6 On the SME VoIP Con guration Interface > scroll down and on the Central Directory url link. Version 0.22 column, click on Page | 4 Import Contact List to Central Directory STEP 7 On the Central Directory page, the admin should click on Browse bu on and the Choose File to Load dialog window will be shown. STEP 8 On the Choose File to Upload dialog window, navigate to the directory or folder that contains the right file to be imported to the base sta on > Click on Open bu on. Next, click on the Load bu on. This will import the contents of contacts in the selected file into the relevant Base st on. Version 0.22 Page | 5 The figure below shows the import procedure is in process. Altern ve way to import a Contact List is to get it from a server. First click on Management url to get Management Se ngs page, then select the protocol of your server (TFTP/HTTP) in Management Transfer Protocol, then save the se ng by clicking Save. Go back to Central Directory page and enter Server IP address (inclusive the path in the end of the address) and Filename of the contact list, then save the se ng by clicking Save. (See example below). Then reboot the Base st on to ensure that the changes take effect. Verification of Contact List Import to Central Directory On the Handset, navigate to Central Directory where the correct contact list should populate to the contacts uploaded to the Base sta on.
