October 04, 2014 – Senior Federation

I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do
the same works I have done, and even greater works,
because I am going to be with the Father. John 14:12 KJV
CALL TO WORSHIP
THEME SONG
Verse 1
God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus,
He came to love, heal, and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove
my Savior lives.
Refrain
Because He lives I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future.
And life is worth the living
just because He lives.
Verse 2
How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride, and joy He gives;
But greater still the calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days
because He lives.
7Lift
up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 8Who is this
King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in
battle. 9Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye
everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10Who
is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.
Selah. PSALM 24:7-10 (KJV)
WELCOME
Pastor and Mrs. Newton are pleased that you have chosen to
worship with us today. We are thankful to God for blessing us with
your presence, and we hope your worship experience will be both
uplifting and encouraging. Thank you for allowing us to share Him
with you. If you need anything, ask any of our members, and we
will see that you are cared for. Welcome to Maranatha!
THE FOURTH COMMANDMENT
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shall
thou labor and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath
of the Lord thy God: in it thou shall not do any work, thou, nor thy
son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor
thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days
the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is,
and rested on the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the
Sabbath day and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11

“ENTER TO WORSHIP. . .DEPART TO SERVE”
Elder Joel A. Melton is a native of
Fitzgerald, GA. He is the son of the late
Ms. Mary E. Melton and the grandson of
the late Mrs. Cleo T. Melton. On last
Tuesday, September 11, he celebrated
35 years of holy matrimony to his wife,
Kim W. Melton of Sparks, GA. Their union
wrought two daughters. Their eldest, Melvanie M. Smith, is a registered nurse at Phoebe Dorminy Medical center and is currently
studying to obtain her nurse practitioner license. She also recently
celebrated two years of wedded bliss to Mr. Anthony T. Smith of
Fitzgerald, GA. His youngest daughter Marissa is a kindergarten
teacher at Ben Hill Primary School. Elder Melton is currently
employed as a service technician by the Fitzgerald Ford/Lincoln
dealership.
Elder Melton’s dedication to the edification of the church is
demonstrated through his service in the following capacities:
- Elder
- Community Service Director
- Jail Ministry Team Member
- Evangelist
In closing, Elder Melton uses this quote to guide his life in ministry:
“Christ's last words to His disciples were: Go ye therefore, and
teach all nations…To us also the commission is given. We are
bidden to go forth as Christ's messengers, to teach, instruct, and
persuade men and women, to urge upon their attention the word
of life.” -E. G. White
