Changes vs 6.15
New:
- None
Changes:
- Improve CLI help output for 'showall config'
- Improve CLI help for IPV6 network ping (OEM use only)
- Disk firmware updates no longer allow on-line update mode of 'all' disks, or 'tiers' (single disk/channel still
allowed)
• Off-line disk firmware updates are still preferred since 10 disks (1 tier) can be flashed simultaneously, vs online mode which is 1 disk at a time, with journaled rebuilds in-between updates.
Fixes:
- Now able to set enclosure zoning on SS7000 enclosures ('ses setzone', should only be use if directed by
technical support)
- Correct LUN format bug which could take place when booting a controller. Due to this bug:
•
When upgrading it is safest if both controller are updated at the same time (off-line upgrade vs on-line)
•
Any LUN maintenance tasks (format, verify, rebuild) should be stopped before upgrading (by using 'lun
stop' and 'tier stop') and manually started after both controllers are fully on-line.
Please review our recommended timeout values as well as your host's timeout/link-down settings

NOTE: Host computer(s) must have their timeout set above our disk timeout value (above 60 recommended), and
below our 'host timeout' value
NOTE: Native Command Queuing (NCQ) is disabled on a 'defaulted' system. ' disk' will report the most recently set
value (which is made active following a restart when changing modes). If you are running SATA drives in a 1x60 or
4x15 enclosure mode, NCQ must remain off. For 2x30 mode, we strongly recommend that NCQ remain off.
NOTE: For maximum latency control: disk maxcmds should be larger than the maximum number of host commands
issued per tier (total LUNs on any tier times the number of host that could be issuing commands to those luns at the
same time, times the host command queue depth per LUN). disk maxcmds can be 16-32 based on FAE/support
recommendation.
NOTE: If enclosures are 4x15 mode (3 enclosure configuration), we strongly recommend running with writeback cache
off.
NOTE: We strongly recommend that LUN or TIER verify (not both at once) be run in continuous mode. (increase tier
maxverifies to 4-6 from default if you will be using tier verify)
See '? lun' and '? tier' for more information.
