I am a communicator, skilled in using the spoken word, the written word and the
visual arts. I am passionate about photography as technical art form and a story
telling device, and am literate in social media. I am a keen advocate for mental
health education and awareness.

Artist in Residence for Sunlife Financial Chair of Adolescent Mental Health
Halifax, Nova Scotia
• Worked with mentally ill youth, both in a inpatient setting and in the community.
• Organized and participated in the YOUth Against Stigma Coffeehouse Project, a
monthly event featuring artistic performances by and for local youth.
• Collaborated with organizations such as The Canadian Mental Health Association,
The Schizophrenia Society and The IWK Health Centre in raising awareness of
mental health issues.
• Taught more than 20 photography workshops to inpatient youth in the IWK
focusing on exploring concepts of identity, self perception, and stigma.
• Created artwork, photography and multi-media presentations promotioning the
anti-stigma message in the community.
• Spoke about mental health, mental disorders and stigma at schools, universities,
hospitals and businesses as well as at a number of conferences.
