gaining additional distribution volume for its customer base in Neckartenzlingen,
near Stuttgart in Germany
• LGI heads up the transport management across Europe for the global market leader
• LGI's state-of-the-art washing system is used to clean shipping containers
Herrenberg, November 13, 2014 It happened back in 2011 and now the company has done
it again – LGI Logistics Group International GmbH (LGI) has successfully won out over its
competitors in its 2014 bid for tender. The service provider has maintained its distribution
volume for Belden's manufacturing facility in the Czech Republic and has won the
distribution logistics for production which will be carried out in Neckartenzlingen (in the
greater Stuttgart area) from January 2015. This signifies an increase in volume of
approximately 30 percent and this doubles the existing stock levels.
And in addition to its role collecting goods (once a day in the Czech Republic and twice a day
in Neckartenzlingen), LGI also heads up the transport management across Europe for the
global market leader.
Services provided for both plants include the collection of finished goods from the customer
bases in the Czech Republic and Neckartenzlingen, the collection of merchandise from
Belden suppliers, as well as storage, picking, and dispatch worldwide. What's more, LGI
employees are responsible for carrying out special services such as kitting, managing serial
numbers, and handling sample stock. A further added-value service can be found in the form
of LGI's state-of-the-art container washing system, which is used to clean shipping
containers of various sizes at several points throughout the year.
“The fact that we have maintained our existing business area and even successfully added
new business to our portfolio clearly demonstrates that our logistics services continue to
impress in situations where quality is paramount,” notes LGI Division Manager Matthias
Moser. This statement is confirmed by Head of Strategic Purchasing EMEA at Belden,
Christof Blumenröther: “What Mr. Moser says is exactly right – both the project team and
Belden's management team are delighted with LGI's logistics service provisions and we are
very keen to maintain our working relationship going forward.”
