Friday 7th November 2014 Dear Parent/Guardian The Infant and Junior School are thrilled to announce an exciting whole school community project that we have been planning. In the coming weeks, the children will be involved in a singing and recording project led by Miz Porter and Rob Holman from an organisation called iSingPOP that helps to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural and social development of pupils and their place in the community. They will be learning and performing a number of special songs with actions which support and celebrate the partnership between the Infant and Junior School as well as the children’s learning in a range of subjects including Music, RE and Citizenship. This project is part of our inclusive curriculum however if you do not want your child to take part please see your child’s class teacher, we will make alternative arrangements for them. On Friday 14th November the children will be recorded so that we can create a school album with help from the iSingPOP team. Concerts As part of Holy Trinity’s 80th Anniversary celebrations the children will perform in concerts at Holy Trinity Church where you can enjoy the fruits of the children’s efforts and learn more about iSingPOP. These will take place on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th November 2014. As this is the whole of the school communities of LIS and LJS, the children will be performing in two groups. They will not be performing in all 6 concerts. To ensure siblings are grouped together we have organised the concerts around our houses with each group putting on 3 concerts each with the following timetable: Wednesday 19th November 10.45am– GROUP B Potter, Barry (LJS) Mice, Crocs (LIS) 2pm – GROUP A Rowling, Henley (LJS) Owls, Larks (LIS) 6.15pm – GROUP B Potter, Barry (LJS) Mice, Crocs (LIS) Thursday 20th November 10.45am– GROUP A Rowling, Henley (LJS) Owls, Larks (LIS) 2pm – GROUP B Potter, Barry (LJS) Mice, Crocs (LIS) 6.15pm – GROUP A Rowling, Henley (LJS) Owls, Larks (LIS) Your child will be able to tell you which house they are in. Tickets We have been very fortunate to receive community grants both from the council and from the diocese to help towards making this fantastic project a reality. To cover our costs and in accordance with the school’s charging policy we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £1.00 per ticket. Tickets are limited to a maximum of 2 per family so please indicate on the form your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice for the performance you would like to attend. We will endeavour to ensure you receive your first choice but due to limited numbers of seats and standing space in the church this may not be possible. If you are having difficulty meeting some or all of this cost, please make an appointment to see the Head Teacher, who will be happy to discuss this matter. Tickets can be purchased from either the Infant School or the Junior School. If more tickets become available we will let you know and these will be allocated on a 1st come first served basis. The closing date to request tickets is Wednesday 12th November 2014 we intend to issue the tickets by the end of the week. Parking Please be aware that parking will be very limited for this event, if you can walk please do, if you do drive please be considerate to our neighbours. We have informed the community police of this event. Merchandise There will be an opportunity to buy the recording and t-shirts to remember the event and we will send out details of this during the week of the performances. The children will have a brilliant time learning the songs and actions and we hope to see as many of you as possible at Holy Trinity for what we know will be fantastic performances for the concerts.
