LFI in brief: ECOLE PRIMAIRE COLLEGE ET LYCEE

Le Lycée Français d’Irlande accueille des élèves de 3 à 18
ans. Il compte environ 500 enfants qui représentent 30
nationalités différentes sur nos deux sites de Foxrock et
Clonskeagh. Le campus de Foxrock abrite les classes de
maternelle et d’élémentaire et celui de Clonskeagh, les
classes du secondaire (collège et lycée).
Le LFI est un lieu d’enseignement unique. Dès le plus
jeune âge, les enfants sont baignés dans un
environnement multiculturel et bilingue. Le LFI veille à
fournir aux élèves une pédagogie innovante et créative
qui met la réussite de chacun au cœur de son
enseignement.
ECOLE PRIMAIRE
L’école primaire située à Foxrock accueille les enfants de
3 à 11 ans, de la petite section au CM2. Les classes
d’élémentaire portent désormais le label ‘section
internationale’. Les enfants reçoivent des cours d’anglais
dès la Grande Section. Le programme d’anglais et
d’irlandais suivent le cursus irlandais. Des cours de
‘français langue de scolarisation’ viennent en soutien aux
enfants dont le français n’est pas la langue maternelle.
La journée de classe commence à 8h25 et s’achève à
14h40 sauf le mercredi où les cours prennent fin à
12h35. Un service de garderie à prix abordable est
proposé jusqu’à 18h ainsi qu’un vaste choix d’activités
extra-scolaires (dont le catéchisme).
COLLEGE ET LYCEE
Lycée Français d’Irlande
Le campus de Clonskeagh abrite les classes de la 6ème
à la Terminale. A partir de la classe de 5e, les élèves
intègrent l’EUROCAMPUS, mis en place avec notre
partenaire de St Kilian’s. Français, allemands, irlandais
et élèves de nationalités tierces partagent des cours. A
la fin du cursus en 3ème, les enfants passent une double
qualification, le Diplôme National de Brevet (DNB)
français et le Junior Certificate irlandais. Le LFI est, en ce
sens, une école qui fait rayonner chaque jour la
citoyenneté européenne et offre à ses élèves un véritable
parcours de réussite.
Au lycée, à partir de la 1ère, les élèves ont le choix entre
les trois séries du baccalauréat général : L (à dominante
littéraire), ES (à dominante économique) et S (à
dominante scientifique). Ils peuvent aussi opter pour la
section internationale américaine (Option Internationale
du Baccalauréat, OIB section américaine).
Le Baccalauréat français est reconnu par les universités
irlandaises et internationales. Le taux de réussite du LFI
à l’examen est régulièrement de 100% avec une large
majorité d’élèves obtenant des mentions.
Notre mission d’enseignement ne saurait se couper
de notre mission d’éducation. Nous formons des
citoyens de demain, ambitieux, curieux, conscients
de leurs droits et devoirs, ouverts sur le monde qui
les entoure et ses enjeux politiques, économiques,
culturels et écologiques. Nous sommes fiers de

The LFI welcomes children from the ages of 3 years to
18 years, and currently has more than 500 children of
30 nationalities enrolled at its two sites in Foxrock and
Clonskeagh. The Primary school, in Foxrock, includes
pre-school and elementary classes from CP to CM2.
The Secondary School in Clonskeagh includes the
Collège and Lycée, in the award-winning ‘Eurocampus’
premises.
The LFI is a unique place of education. From Primary
School on, the pupils are immersed in a multicultural and
bilingual environment and the LFI provides an innovative,
creative and rounded approach to children’s education.
PRIMARY SCHOOL
The Primary School, based in Foxrock, provides an
education to children aged 3 to 11 years, in the preschool and elementary school from CP to CM2 with
small class sizes. The Elementary School is officially
recognised as a ‘section internationale’ by the French
Government. English is integrated into the curriculum
from Grande Section onwards, and children follow the
Irish national curriculum in English and Irish, with
teaching provided by native-English speaker teachers.
Additional French instruction is made available for nonnative speakers.
The school day is from 08:25 to 14:40, with a shorter
day on Wednesdays when school ends at 12:35. An
affordable after-school service is provided until 18:00
each day, with an extensive range of extracurricular
activities available. Religion can be studied as an afterschool activity, and is provided in partnership with
Hollypark National School.
SECONDARY SCHOOL (COLLEGE AND LYCEE)
DUAL CURRICULUM / LES DEUX CURSUS
The Secondary School, based in Clonskeagh, welcomes
pupils from 6e to Terminale levels. Specialist teachers
provide teaching in a wide range of core and additional
subjects. From 5e onwards (1st Year), pupils join the
EUROCAMPUS, run jointly with our partner St Kilian’s
Deutsche Schule. At the end of 3e (3rd Year), pupils sit
both the French Diplôme National de Brevet (DNB) and
the Irish Junior Certificate.
Pupils may then progress to the Lycée on any of the
three streams offered by the LFI: Literature, Economics
and Science, and may also study in the internationallyoriented Section (Option Internationale du Baccalauréat,
OIB Section Américaine). The Baccalauréat Français (Bac)
is officially recognised by all Irish and international
universities for matriculation and university entrance
purposes. The LFI boasts a high success rate in the Bac
examinations. A range of sports and other activities is
also offered at the Secondary School.

our educational mission. We are forming the citizens
