MÜGRIP® MBJ5
New drive concept
All drive components are placed outside the
machine frame, affording better access and reducing heat generation in the weaving zone.
A new feature is the VARIPICK system with servomotor for higher dynamics, greater precision and
speedier drive responses.
The DIGIKAST electronic warp delivery is likewise
equipped with a servomotor, so that the warp tension is controlled even more accurately and dynamically.
General features
The MJB type series is the most frequently used
rapier weaving machine worldwide for producing
labels, images, neckties and narrow technical
fabrics with cut edges. It is the only weaving system
designed and built specially for this market segment. All components are made by Jakob Müller AG
– a complete system from one source.
The rugged and compact design with its jacquard
mechanism immediately above the basic machine,
low machine height and minimal weight enable it to
be installed and operated in existing rooms as well
as in multistorey buildings. Further features making
this machine very attractive both economically and
ecologically are its high speeds, great flexibility
regarding range of labels, rapid resetting, low
maintenance demands, minimum power and compressed air consumption and high resale value.
Rapier weaving system
The universal rapier minimizes fluff production with
PES and also the danger of fibril damage. The special design of the bring-and-fetch gripper ensures
faultfree yarn transfer. With the VARISPEED
system the machine speed is matched to the
momentary weft yarn quality being inserted; while
the thread detector provided with air compensation
ensures constant weft tension, ensuring maximum
production without sacrificing fabric quality. This
enables a wide spectrum of different weft materials
to be woven, such as open or twisted filaments, cotton, reinforced and non-reinforced lurexes, effect
and reflector yarns.
Integrated machine control
MÜCAN – the latest machine control generation –
ensures simple and clear supervision with dependable control and monitoring of all elements even at
the highest speeds. The easily understood and
clear touch-screen facilitates monitoring and programming by the operator.
All process sequences monitored and
controlled electronically
– Machine drive
– Warp tension
– Empty cones
– Weft and warp breaks
– Fabric take-off
– Winding safeguard at fabric take-off
– Cutting knife control
– Thermosetting
– Safety covers
– Magnetic feed on jacquard mechanism
– Variable-speed drive regulator
– Variable speed
DIGIKAST warp delivery
Main drive motor and variable-speed drive
Middle weft transfer
New MÜCAN machine control
Fabric take-up
With VARIPICK, the electronically controlled cloth
take-off, the weft densities within a repeat can be
programmed to change, ranging from 15 to 70 picks
per cm. This variability is a further instrument enabling the label producer to influence significantly the
fabric quality and efficiency.
Higher speeds
By virtue of various mechanical improvements, like
the modified reed beat-up with gentler motions,
vibration is reduced. Similarly the new harness is
designed for low-vibration running. Accordingly the
maximum speed of the MBJ5 is 800 min-1. The particular industrial speed will naturally depend on production conditions and yarn qualities.
Fabric edges
With the Cantrina each individual thread of the holding selvedges can be tensioned separately, allowing simple and uniform adjustment of the selvedge
thread tension.
Various separating systems are available today for
an optimum selvedge quality. These are adapted to
the types of weave, density ratio of the warp and
weft, purpose of the labels and to market requirements.
