Applications and doses
BIOPOL MIP is a preservative of wide spectra
specially indicated for avoiding the alterations
caused by microorganisms in cosmetics. BIOPOL
MIP is based on a combination of methylisothiazolin-one, molecule with much lower
sensitisation properties than the usual
heterocyclic compounds, and iodopropinyl
butylcarbamate, active of high effectiveness
against fungi and yeasts at low doses. BIOPOL
MIP is an excellent preservative for cosmetics
presented as emulsions as its actives guarantee
the protection of both phases.
BIOPOL MIP is compatible with the majority of the
raw materials used in cosmetic products and
detergents. The BIOPOL MIP is especially
recommended for hair conditioning products.

The typical dosage of BIOPOL MIP as preservative of
rinse off products from 0.10 to 0.20 %. The
recommendation for creams and in general leave on
products if from 0.05 to 0.20%. The dosages are
calculated on the total weight of the formula of the
cosmetic.

Use guidelines
BIOPOL MIP is stable at pH from 4 to 10 and it is stable during production processes with high
temperature (80 °C). As general rule it is recommended add the preservative at the first stages of the
production process to ensure the correct distribution of the active ingredients.
Effectiveness
BIOPOL MIP is an effective product to avoid the development and proliferation of different type of
microorganisms (bacteria, fungi and yeasts) such as:

Escherichia coli
Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Staphylococcus aureus
Pseudomonas fluorescens
Fungus and yeasts
Candida albicans
Aspergillus niger
Saccharomices cerevisae
General information on storage, safety and transport
BIOPOL MIP is classified as dangerous product
for transport. For further information refer to the
material safety data sheet.
Protect from frost, heat and direct sunlight. Store at
room temperature in the original container.
If well stored, its shelf life is 1 year.
Available packaging is 25, 60 and 200 KG.
