Live satellite Case transmissions from LA JOLLA, CALIFORNIA & MILAN, ITALY 2014 2 5 t h A n n u a l Cardiovascular Interventions October 21-24, 2014 FEATURING PRE-CONFERENCE SEMINAR & EXPANDED SATELLITE SYMPOSIA Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines La Jolla, California Scripps Conference Services & CME www.scripps.org/conferenceservices Introduction Course Overview Cardiologists are trained during their fellowship years in the latest techniques, technologies, standards of practice and guidelines for patient care. However, the practice of medicine changes rapidly and the discipline of interventional cardiology changes, dramatically, each year. Changes in interventional cardiology directly impact patient care and require specific changes to physician practice. To stay current, physicians rely on journal articles, interaction with colleagues and isolated lectures throughout the year. The primary purpose of Cardiovascular Interventions is to provide the practicing physician with a concentrated exposure to new developments in interventional cardiology that will positively influence patient outcomes. Through a program of lectures from world experts, live demonstration procedures and participant-faculty interactions, attendees will learn the latest advances in interventional cardiology. After completing this program, participants will return to their practice environment armed with the latest evidence base and practical information to improve patient outcomes. Conference Highlights • Plenary talks from nationally recognized experts • Live satellite case transmissions from La Jolla, California & Milan, Italy • Ample question and answer time with course faculty • Receptions and networking opportunities among colleagues • Expanded satellite symposia and pre-conference seminar • Mobile conference app with access to course materials and recordings from the convenience of your mobile device or computer Educational Objectives After attending this activity, participants should be able to: • Apply new technical approaches to specific lesion subsets such as bifurcation lesions, left main lesions, chronic total occlusions and saphenous vein graft disease. • Integrate the latest guidelines and practice improvements into the management of myocardial function. • Discuss new techniques under development for percutaneous cardiac valve repair and replacement. • Reduce common catheterization laboratory patient complications using new techniques and technologies. • Critique the latest evidence and guidelines supporting new cardiac imaging modalities such as IVUS and FFR guided stent deployment. • Prescribe the appropriate antithrombotic therapies based on the latest data and guidelines. Target Audience This course is designed for interventional cardiologists, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, vascular surgeons, and internists with an interest in interventional cardiology. No experience in interventional cardiology is required, but a basic understanding of the field is recommended. Accreditation Physicians (MD, DO) Scripps Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Scripps Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 26 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Credit Breakdown Pre-Conference Seminar (Tues): 6 Main Conference (Wed-Fri): 20 Wednesday: 4; Thursday: 8; Friday: 8 Total Credits Available: 26 Commercial Support This course is supported, in part, by educational grants from industry, in accordance with ACCME accreditation Standards for Commercial Support.
