I started working as Director of Photography in 2002. Before I fully committed to
working in the film industry I studied history in the University of Iceland and also in
the University of Copenhagen where my passion for the film media grew every day. It was
always my intention to write, direct, produce and shoot documentaries, but I got so
fascinated by telling a story through the lens that everything else needed to wait. I
currently live in Iceland with my wife and my three lovely daughters. In my spare time I
play golf and ride around on my snowboard or my Honda CB´71 motorcycle.

Tómas Örn Tómasson has shot over 100 laztown episodes. The show received the BAFTA awards as the best
international children show in 2006 and was nominated the 3 following years as well. Lazytown got the
German Emil awards and Juliana Rose Mauriello (Stephanie) was nominated at the daytime Emmy awards in
2005.
The show also got an Emmy nomination as the best children episode of 2006 and Tómas was
nominated for his cinematography on the show at the Icelandic Edda awards.
