Telenor Group Mobile World Congress 2014
David Nathan Davies
Telenor Group Mobile
World Congress 2014
In the Telecoms sector the average
value of a customer is often seen
as the value of that contract, rather
than the ‘lifetime’ value. Increasingly,
the challenge is to create businesses
that engage and deliver ‘emotional’
relationships within differing
customer groups.
Telenor embraces this philosophy
with a ‘brand built around people’s
needs’ and has set the ambition
of becoming the customer-centric
industry leader in all of their
markets by 2014.
Each year the Telenor Group take
part in the Mobile World Congress,
the worlds largest exhibition for
the mobile industry. I was part of
the team in charge of designing the
Telenor Groups Hospitality Stand,
which would also act as the launch
of the new ‘Telenor Design Stretch’,
a re-imagined visual identity.

Tapstorm AS New Visual Identity & Rebrand

Tapstorm AS New Visual
Identity & Rebrand
When Telenor Group decided to develop
a cloud computing offer for business
customers, they chose to brand it
independently. This meant the offer
could also reach beyond the existing
customer base. We helped the project
team define all key dimensions of
the project before drafting briefs for
naming and design. Tapstorm is the
solution. Launched in early 2013,
it has performed strongly with its
current selection of productivity
and management tools.
With the Tapstorm name and brand
design agreed, Pajama created a
presentations template and guidelines
for stationery. We also undertook
a photographic assignment, delivering
40 original images for use in print
materials and online. Beyond the look
and feel of the brand, we also advised
on the appropriate tone of voice for
written communications and the
online environment.

Telenor Group DTAC Financial Services
David Nathan Davies
Telenor Group
DTAC Financial Services
In 2013, DTAC looked to create a new
identity for its safe and easy money
transfer services called ‘EasyPaisia’.
The aim was to create a new visual
identity with closer links to the Telenor
Group’s look and feel, one that could
also be adopted by all of Telenor’s
eleven markets around the world.
The solution, named the ‘Floral Shell’,
was inspired by the natural world,
resembling the funnel shapes of the
Arum Lily and sea shells. This link
to nature gives the service a unique
symbol which helps it to stand out
from its competitors whilst also
creating a trustworthy shape that
implies safe management of wealth
and ease of use. The ‘Floral Shell’ is
organic, yet highly engineered, visually
simple, yet mathematically complex;
these are the same principles that
inspired the Telenor Groups logotype.
To help the symbol work in some
of the Telenor Group’s more crowded
markets, such as Grameenphone in
Bangladesh and DTAC in Thailand,
a set of colourful meshes were created
to cut through the noise and draw
attention of the brand.

FireFox OWD Packaging
Pajama created co-branding between
Mozilla Firefox and Telenor for use
on handset packaging. The solution
shows the two brands in a loose
association to leverage the value
of both. The packs are for an Alcatel
model, on sale in Eastern Europe,
which uses the Firefox mobile OS.
