RFID Basics Cards are not independently powered Symmetrical Signal – constant call out for credentials in range Read range is determined by the size of the card and the reader Signal is sent at 125kHz/13.56Mhz and pulse repeats 10 times per second RFID Basics Once energized the card sends its data to the reader. The resulting binary string compromises the card’s data format. The data from the card is captured by the reader and translated into Wiegand protocol. The data is sent to the controller where it is decoded and access will either be granted or denied. Today’s world is digital A secure and portable credential encoded using a well know standard language Function: Security, layering and key management all defined within an electronic object Benefit: Protect against security penetration by layering security on top of credential media iCLASS SE technology compatibilities SE Reader Platform iCLASS SE benefits Cost effective and flexible reader Offering advanced security and flexibility with features such as: Secure Element Technology (Cryptographically hardened technology (EAL 5+ H/W) providing protection of keys and cryptographic operations Secure Identity Object - Security, layering and key management all defined within an electronic object that can live in a card or an NFC enabled device in the future (i.e mobile phone) Built in velocity checking An ASSA ABLOY Group brand PROPRIETARY INFORMATION. © 2011 HID Global Corporation. NFC Enabled Mobile Access Basics Provides access control card emulation (virtual credentials) on mobile devices. NFC enabled smart phone becomes a secure identity credential within an existing access control system. Communications with access control readers is established via NFC (Near Field Communications) embedded in the mobile device electronics. NFC operates at 13.56 MHz, the same frequency as contactless smart card technology. An ASSA ABLOY Group brand PROPRIETARY INFORMATION. © 2011 HID Global Corporation. All rights reserved. Why Upgrade?
