1 Nacogdoches Newcomers and Friends Newsletter July 2014 Volume: 27 Issue: 2 Dear Newcomers and Friends, Barnhill’s was a win-win solution for our Newcomers and Friends luncheon. Our food was delicious and hot; the price was right ($10); plenty of parking was available. Everyone, I talked to, said that it was a good choice ! This organization has so many members, who step-up-to-the-plate or go beyond the call of duty. It is one of the things that I love most about our group! We needed an American flag and a Texas flag for our luncheons, Rita Lorio secured both flags and made the stands to support them. We needed a lectern - Janat and Edgar Ash purchased a beautiful mahogany one, donating it to our club. We needed a gavel - Jerry Roberts bought one, and presented it to me at our installation of officers. Thanks again for your thoughtfulness and kindness. Texas Pledge Honor the Texas Flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible. A wonderful time was had by all at the Bridge Party held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, There was excellent food, great fun and friendship. Thanks to Coordinator, Diane Jonas, and all the bridge leaders. Wishing you all a safe and happy 4th of July.
