We undertake social investment in a series of charitable initiatives channelled through The Cinven Foundation. Established in 2007, The Cinven Foundation provides a way for Cinven to support charitable causes that are important to staff members. The contributions of individual Cinven employees are supported through a matched donation policy. Each year we make donations to a select number of charities, mainly supporting educationrelated programmes. During 2013, the charities which receivied financial support from The Cinven Foundation were: 49 Cinven Annual Review 2013 Springboard for Children Springboard for Children provides a ‘literacy lifeline’ for children with learning difficulties in inner city primary schools. Impetus-PEF raises significant sums from the private equity industry and its business partners to support charities that help young people to succeed. Further information: www.impetus-pef.org.uk In February 2014, we hosted a half day careers workshop with Impetus-PEF and the charity ThinkForward. ThinkForward is a ground breaking programme in East London which places coaches into schools to work with young people who are at most risk of becoming NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training), ensuring that the transition from school to work is as smooth as possible. We also worked with Action for Children in support of their first ‘CEO Sleep Out’ in Paternoster Square in March 2014. Cinven hosted a dinner and breakfast for those ‘sleeping rough’ in support of Action for Children.
