been designed specifically for accountants from all walks of
business to improve their skills and knowledge.

technical and management accounting, business strategies and
leadership hot topics.
Welcome from the Conference Chair
In the modern, highly competitive business environment,
management expects finance professionals to provide
information and analysis that will help them plan, control and
evaluate business processes and make strategic business
decisions. To do this, every finance professional needs to focus
on forecasting, providing information in a decision-useful manner
and analysing the impact that the wider business environment
may have on their company.
As in past years, the 2014 One Stop Update for Accountants
in Business will provide attendees with information on the key
issues that they need to be aware of when involved in making
key business decisions. This is an exciting conference program
that I’m sure will offer something for all finance professionals.
I look forward to seeing you at the 2014 One Stop Update.

Communicating true value through integrated reporting
NZ Post is the first New Zealand company to fully embrace the principles of Integrated
Reporting. This interview session will discuss the benefits and associated costs of
integrated reporting, the issues present in the transition period and lessons learnt so far by
NZ Post.
Mark Yeoman, CFO, New Zealand Post Group
The changing role of finance
The CFO has a critical and challenging role: generating and analysing financial information
to help a business decide when and where to invest. The information, if timely, accurate and
transparent, is powerful and determines the success of a company.
• The CFO role: catalyst, strategist, steward and/or operator?
• A growth-minded CFO as an indispensable part of an organisation
Rob Woodgate, Group CFO, PGG Wrightson
Post-marmageddon: igniting immediate recovery by leading in
times of crisis
The factory closure and subsequent fall of Marmite supply has brought about tremendous
challenges for the mother company Sanitarium. Pierre will share his learnings of facing a
supply crisis, tightening earnings and high profile pressures from a loyal and demanding
public.
Pierre van Heerden, General Manager, Sanitarium Health and Wellbeing Company
Creating performance to achieve the impossible
Through his work in high performance sporting environments David has identified and
implemented principles underpinning highly successful campaigns. In this session he will
talk about creating performance cultures and how to lead a team of people on a high
performance climb.
David Slyfield, Performance Planner, Slyfield Training Systems
The bigger the challenge, the better
Therese Walsh, Head of New Zealand, ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
