Rainier Visitor Association 360-569-0910 [email protected] MOUNT RAINIER VISITORS ASSOCIATION HOSTS 5th ANNUAL FALL ‘ROAD TO PARADISE’ WINE AND BREW FESTIVAL Festival Showcases Hard-to-Find Artisanal Washington Wines and Microbrews ASHFORD, Wash., (Oct. 27, 2014) – The Mount Rainier Visitors Association (MRVA) is hosting the 5th Annual Fall ‘Road to Paradise’ Wine and Brew Festival, Saturday, Nov. 15, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Lion’s Grand Tasting Room in Ashford, Wash., at the base of Mt. Rainier. The popular festival showcases hard-to-find artisanal wines and microbrews from Washington state producers. Wineries showcased this year include Toledo’s Bateaux Cellars, Hoodsport Winery from Hoodsport, Olympia’s NW Mountain Winery and Madsen Family Cellars, Convergence Zone Cellars and Piccola Cellars from Woodinville, Silverlake’s Mt Saint Helens Cellars, HarMony Wines of Castle Rock, Tenino’s Scatter Creek Winery, Stottle Winery of Lacey and Redmond Ridge Winery from Redmond. Cideries and breweries featured this year include Finnriver Farm & Cidery from Chimacum, Narrows Brewing from Tacoma and Gig Harbor’s 7 Seas Brewing. The event features popular local bands, including the Collaborative Works Jazz Trio, Shaggy Sweet and The Side Project, whose rendition of "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" has been featured nationally and internationally on the hit television shows "Dancing with the Stars" and "So You Think You Can Dance." Papas Wood Fire Pizza will be on hand to serve up their famous wood-fired pizza. The popular vendor uses handcrafted sauces and flour imported from Italy. Tickets can be purchased online at www.road-to-paradise.com. Discounted tickets are available for advance purchase through Nov. 13th for $25. Admission includes a souvenir wine glass, 10 tasting tickets and live entertainment. All tastes are one ticket, and additional tasting tickets can be purchased for $1.00 each. After the 13th, tickets are $30 and can be purchased either online or onsite. For those looking to extend their visit, hospitality awaits at area hotels, bed and breakfasts, cabins and vacation rentals. Visitors will receive one complimentary event ticket for lodging booked Nov. 14-15 in Ashford, Elbe, Longmire or Mineral.
