Goals :

activities
 To improve net incomes from farming and to sustain agriculture based livelihoods for
Small and marginal women farmers.
 To reduce the level of drudgery for at least 5000 women through introduction of
women friendly mechanized farming.
 To improve natural resource base in farms of women farmers particularly in rain fed
areas by harvesting rainwater and conserving soil.
 To provide special package for at least 600 single women headed households.
 Project Inception Phase
This the preliminary phase of the project where we have to document some pre project
implementation reports. Therefore the preparation of “Detailed Progress Report - DPR”,
“Technical Protocol Documentation – TPD”, “Inception Report” completed.
 Mobilization and identification of the target community & CRPs
The programme was initiated with the liasioning and meeting with the concerned village
sarpanch, GLPC-field staff and synchronizing the list available with GLPC and the actual
status of livelihood groups at the village level. All 10000 mahila kisan have been
identified in 172 villages. Identifying and selection of CRP is also one of the key
component of the programme from sustainability point of view. In our programme we
have put one CRP per village based on the requirement. Till date we have identified 172
CRPs.
 Institution Building
As institution building activity, we have formed 511, WFPG (Women Farmer Producer
Groups), 20 Clusters at block level.
 Development of Training Module
Considering the importance of the training in the programme, Bhanubhai and Richard the
key members under the programme developed training module on “Basic orientation of
the CRP” and “Capacity Building of the WFPG”
 Training and Capacity Building
Capacity building of the women farmers are the key component of the programme.
Therefore training of the all the CRPs have been done for one day on the topic titled
“Basic understanding and overview of the programme”. Under this training the concepts,
roles and responsibility of the CRP members are discussed in detailed. Till date 10 CRP
trainings have been completed.
 Baseline Survey and Mahila Kisan Profiling
Under the programme, baseline and mahila kisan profiling have to be done for all the
target mahila kisan. The questionnaire for the baseline survey form was finalized at the
end of the April, 2014. Then based on the basic orientation and discussion the survey was
undertaken. BLS was done for 7946 and Mahila Kisan Profiling for 1767 M.K.
 Soil Testing
As one of the key element of the objective towards sustainable development, the soil
testing conducted on the land of 10% of the target beneficiaries to avoid the blanket
application of fertilizer and promoting the use of organic fertilizer. The soil testing sample
was sent to GNFC for the testing. Now we have received the soil testing reports and based
on that women farmers will decide for the amount of micro nutrients required to be use for
particular crops. A practical exposure is also provided to CRP for taking soil samples.
