Most commonly this flow rate is displayed in “pints/24 hours”. To start we program the Wizard with the displacement of the divider block in cubic inches. There is a proximity switch attached to the divider block which opens and closes an electrical contact once for every complete cycle of the block. This switch is wired to the Wizard which times the frequency of these contact closures. By calculating the time frame with the displacement, the display will show the expected 24 hour total flow rate provided the frequency of the cycle remained constant. Alarm - Secondly, we program the monitor with a “fault limit”. For every cycle, the Wizard will compare the current calculated flow rate with the programmed fault alarm rate. If the current flow rate falls below the alarm limit set point, the Wizard will switch to failure mode and trigger a lubrication failure alarm. Zones - The Quad Wizard Monitor is capable of watching up to four separate zones of lubrication. The display will toggle through each active zone at the rate of about 5 seconds a zone. The red LED will be lit above the number corresponding to the currently displayed zone. The Wizard is programmed to make active only the numbers of zones your system requires. Programming the Wizard: Entering the programming mode –To enter “Programming Mode” to turn Zones on and off, press and hold down the “Disarm Reset” until the display turns to dashes (approx 3 seconds) so the Green lights over “Current” and “Average” alternately flash. The Wizard will rearm itself if no buttons are pushed for 5 seconds. Turning Zones ON and OFF – To activate the proper number of zones, first enter the “Programming Mode “ described above. Press the “Current” button once. Press the “Zone” button to toggle through each Zone LED. A dash on the display under each zone indicates an active zone. For each zone, press the “Average” button to either turn off or on the dash as required. When you’re done selecting the zones, press the “Current” button to save your changes. Entering the Disarmed mode - With the monitor powered on, to set Displacement or Alarm Fault press the button marked “Disarm Reset” so the green “Normal” and red “failure” lights flash alternately. The monitor is “Disarmed” and will not trigger an alarm in this mode. The Wizard will rearm itself if no buttons are pushed for 5 seconds. Setting the Displacement – Enter the “Disarmed” mode as described above, then select the proper zone using the “Zone” pushbutton. Pressing “Displ Set” once will display the current setting. To change the setting, press again to start at 0.001 and press repeatedly, or press and hold to increase the value to the proper amount. Press the “Current” button to save the new settings. If necessary, using the zone button, advance to the next zone and repeat. Setting the Alarm Fault Rate - Enter the “Disarmed” mode as described above. Pushing the “Alarm Set” button once will display the current setting. To change the setting, press the “Alarm Set” button again to start at 0.1 and repeatedly press the button to advance the number or press and hold to rapidly advance the setting to the proper value. Press the “Current” button to save the new setting. SLOAN BROTHERS L U B R I C AT I O N S Y S T E M S 168 Armstrong Drive Freeport PA 16229 Tel: 800.722.0250 Fax: 412.828.2424 www.sbco.com
