2014 Canadian Youth Challenge 5 Pin Bowling Championship Hamilton, Ontario March 27 – 30 The Canadian 5 Pin Bowlers’ Association is a proud member of the Bowling Federation of Canada GREETINGS FROM THE CANADIAN 5 PIN BOWLERS’ ASSOCIATION MOT DE BIENVENUE DE L’ASSOCIATION CANADIENNE DES 5 QUILLES Welcome bowlers and guests to the Canadian Youth Challenge 5 Pin Bowling Championship. The Youth Challenge has taken different forms and names over the past 57 years, and this year marks the seventeenth time competitors will meet face-to-face at a national championship. We welcome back the participants who competed last year. This is truly a coast-to-coast championship! There are several features returning to the Youth Challenge from 2013. The top average male and female bowlers (based on a minimum number of frames) will each receive a $1,000 scholarship. Teams will bowl a single round robin beginning on Thursday night and playoffs will begin on Saturday morning with the top 4 teams playing a double round robin to determine the champions and the bottom 7 teams competing in a consolation single round robin. Not only do you get to meet the other bowlers in person again this year, you also get a taste of the Canadian Open 5 Pin Bowling Championship format. Hopefully, the National Youth Challenge will spark your interest in the Open format and encourage you to continue to bowl competitively throughout your life. In the long run, we hope you become more aware of what the Canadian 5 Pin Bowlers’ Association does for the bowling community, and what programs it has to offer. You are the bowlers of tomorrow and the future of our Association. We hope you enjoy yourself in Gatineau at the 2014 Canadian Youth Challenge 5 Pin Bowling Championship and look forward to a high level of competition and excitement. Good luck and good bowling!!
