more assists, but just the fourth time that he went for 10 or more assists without committing a turnover.
Over his last 19 games, Pau Gasol is averaging 18.5 ppg, 12.3 rpg, 3.5 apg, 2.42 bpg, .494 from the field and .854 from the line. Over that span,
Gasol has posted eight games with 20 or more points, 13 games with 10 or more rebounds, 12 games with two or more blocks and 13 doubledoubles.
On Jan. 10 against Milwaukee, Pau Gasol scored a career-high 46 points (17-30 FG, 12-13 FT) and grabbed 18 rebounds. Gasol is the first
player in the NBA since Kevin Durant (Jan. 26, 2011 at Minnesota: 47 points, 18 rebounds) to record at least 46 points and 18 boards in a game.
Gasol is also the first Bull since Michael Jordan (March 28, 1990 at Cleveland: 69 points, 18 rebounds) to accomplish the feat (STATS, LLC.).
For Gasol, it was the third time in his career that he scored 40 or more points in a game.
In the first quarter of Chicago’s win over Milwaukee on Jan. 10, Pau Gasol recorded 20 points (7-10 FG, 6-6 FT) and six rebounds in the first
quarter. His 20-point, first quarter performance marked just the fourth time in his 14-year career that he scored at least 18 points in a quarter
(Elias Sports Bureau). Five days earlier versus Houston, Gasol scored 18 points (8-10 FG, 2-2 FT) in the first quarter against the Rockets. He
would go on to finish with a game-high 27 points against Houston.
In his last 16 games, Pau Gasol has totaled 49 blocks (3.06 bpg), including a career-best nine versus Denver on Jan. 1.
On Jan. 5, Bulls rookie Nikola Mirotić was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for December. During the month, Mirotić posted 9.9
ppg, 5.7 rpg and shot .439 from the field. He posted 10 or more points in nine of Chicago’s 15 games.
Among all rookies, Bulls forward Nikola Mirotić currently ranks first in three-point field goal percentage (.358), first in free-throw percentage
(.780), fourth in rebounds (4.5), fourth in blocks (0.63) and sixth in scoring (7.7). On the year, Mirotić has posted 20 games with 10 or more
points, two games with 20 or more points and three double-doubles.
On Jan. 1 versus Denver, Chicago tallied a franchise-record 18 blocks (previous record, 16 at Cleveland on Jan. 20, 2012), including a careerhigh nine blocks from Pau Gasol. Chicago ranks first in the NBA with 6.73 bpg.
On the year, the Bulls are averaging 102.3 ppg, good for ninth in the league in scoring. Chicago’s scoring clip is its highest since it averaged a
league-best 105.2 ppg in 1995-96. Last season, the Bulls produced 93.7 ppg.
On Dec. 22, the Bulls scored a season-high 129 points (40-74 FG) in their victory over Toronto (129-120). Chicago’s 129 points are the most the
team has scored since the 2010-11 season (posted 132 points vs. SAC on March 21, 2011). The Bulls also set a new franchise record for points
in a quarter with 49 fourth-quarter points. During that quarter, Chicago shot .700 (14-20 FG) from the field and .864 (19-22 FT) from the line.
With his sixth point in Chicago’s Dec. 22 win over Toronto, Pau Gasol scored the 17,000th point of his career. Gasol is currently averaging 18.3
ppg (25th in the NBA), 11.8 rpg (sixth), 2.8 apg and 2.20 bpg (third) in 35.2 mpg (18th). The 34-year-old Gasol is currently on pace to set a career
high in rebounds per game and his scoring average is his highest since he averaged 18.8 ppg in 2010-11 with the Los Angeles Lakers. He has
posted a double-double in 21 of his last 30 games and also is first in the NBA with 29 double-doubles.
In 48 games (one start) this season, Aaron Brooks has scored in double-digits 32 times. On the year, Brooks is averaging 11.2 ppg in 20.0 mpg.
Jimmy Butler currently ranks second in the NBA in free-throws made (278) and in free-throws attempted (332).
With a road record of 17-7, the Bulls are off to their best start on the road since 1996-97 when they began the year with a road mark of 19-4.
Chicago’s 17 road wins are tied Atlanta (17-5) for the most in the NBA.
Chicago has outnumbered its opponent on the glass in 29 of its last 40 games. Over that stretch, the Bulls have grabbed 50 or more rebounds
12 times, including a season-best 61 at Golden State on Jan. 27. Chicago currently ranks third in the NBA with 45.6 rpg.
Over the last four seasons, Chicago has posted a winning record away from the United Center each year, going a combined 104-69 (.601). The
Bulls have never posted five straight seasons with a winning road record. Chicago is 17-6 on the road this year.
Chicago went 6-3 last year when it held its opponent to 80 points or less and 31-7 (.816) when it limited its foe to less than 90 points. Since
2010-11, Chicago is 95-10 (.905) when it keeps its opponent under 90 points.
NEW YORK, NEW YORK The Bulls will be well represented at NBA All-Star 2015 in New York, as Chicago will send two
players to the All-Star Game for the third time in four seasons. Pau Gasol, voted in by NBA fans, will start for the East and
Jimmy Butler, selected as a reserve by Eastern Conference head coaches, will make his All-Star debut off of the bench for the
East. For Gasol, it is his fifth All-Star nod, but his first as a starter. Bulls rookie Nikola Mirotić has also been selected by the
head coaches to play for the World Team in the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night of All-Star Weekend.
FOR STARTERS For the second time since 1998, the Chicago Bulls will have a starter in the NBA All-Star Game. Bulls forward Pau Gasol was voted in
by fans to start the 2015 All-Star Game in New York. Gasol tallied 974,177 total votes (second-most among frontcourt players). The selection is Gasol’s
fifth overall All-Star nod and first as a starter. At the time of his selection, Gasol held averages of 18.8 ppg (23 rd in the NBA), 11.3 rpg (sixth), 2.7 apg and
2.13 bpg (fifth) in 34.9 mpg. The 34-year-old is currently on pace to set a career high in rebounds per game and his scoring average is his highest since
he averaged 18.8 ppg in 2010-11 with the Los Angeles Lakers. Gasol joins his brother, Marc Gasol (Western Conference starter), as the first brothers to
start in an NBA All-Star Game. This marks the sixth straight season that Chicago will have a player participate in the NBA’s midseason showcase.
RAGING BULLS In 2013-14, Chicago ranked last in the NBA with a scoring average of 93.7 ppg. This season, the Bulls rank ninth with an average clip of
102.2 ppg. Chicago’s increase in point production from last season is the largest in the NBA this year. Chicago’s scoring has been aided by the Bulls
cracking the century mark 28 times; last season, the Bulls scored 100 or more points 25 times. Chicago’s current scoring average is the team’s highest
since 1996-97 when it averaged 103.1 ppg. Chicago’s scoring difference is on pace to be the second largest in team history (+10.2 ppg in 1969-70).
