CREATIVE CONTEST #2 : PERFORMANCE
“Voice An Alien Character”

CHARACTER BIO:
- Morgon the Narrator Inhabitant of the furthest reaches of the outer-galaxies,
Morgon the Narrator can command attention in the unruliest of
crowds, and is as loud and brash as he/she is physically
endowed!
Morgon's features mimic that of an overgrown cane toad, with
his/her defining features being an over-sized mouth and slimy
skin.
As a “Narrator”, Morgon's role is almost that of a “Master of
Ceremonies” for the pantomime that runs at the local tavern in
an outer-galaxy pirate town. However, this is no normal
pantomime. Featuring weird and wacky aliens dressed in
elaborate costumes, this pantomime is used as a “political
rally” to incite hatred against the outer-galaxy's enemy – the
galactic kingdom.

THE SCENE:
In the heart of an outer-galaxy pirate port, an old Parisianstyle pantomime reaches its peak. Aliens big and small, timid
and vicious, occupy the stage - sporting dirty, tacky, costumes
and messy stage make-up. A rowdy crowd watches on, tensions
high, for this midnight entertainment carries with it an
anxious air - as the feud between the Kingdom’s inner loyalists
and the outer-galaxies threatens to come to a head.
Alas, the show must go on…
using the dialogue below, record your best vocal interpretation of “morgon the narrator”!

SCRIPT EXCERPT:
INT. THE STARKILLER TAVERN / PORT AUGUSTINE – NIGHT
An ugly, toad-like alien, MORGON THE NARRATOR, waddles
centre stage. In the midst of drunken cheers, his/her
voice rings out.
MORGON THE NARRATOR
And so in the face of despair, the
outer-galaxies agreed to trade
what little Aetherium they had
with the kingdom, for the promise
of more food, more medicine... a
better life! But what did we get?!
Nothing!
That's right... Nothing!
Left! Left by the galactic kingdom
to squander in our own filth!
So, what are we to do?! What hero
will free us from our doomed
existence?!
Admiral Aldar!
And what hero shall save our
galaxies from the kingdom's wrath?
Admiral Aldar!
The hero that shall restore
balance to the Cosmic Coil!
Rejoice! Join Admiral Aldar as the
outer-galaxies claim their
rightful glory!
Morgon the Narrator revels in the applause of the drunken
audience, before giving his/her signature sign-off and
exiting the stage.
