The Ziztel ZAP10-02-XX-88 is a bulk head / surface mount
microphone unit specifically designed to provide reliable and efficient
voice input to a ZEST PAGA broadcast system from an external
hazardous area.
The ZAP10-02-XX-88 is designed for reliable efficient operation in
hostile climatic conditions and can be positioned in external exposed
locations, the unit can be further protected by installation in a glazed
secondary enclosure which also inhibits unauthorized usage and / or
ensures operation only in emergency conditions.
For critical applications i.e. N +1 or A + B PAGA public address and
alarm system packages the ZAP10-02-xx-88 can be supplied fully
duplicated to ensure single fault tolerance / redundant execution.
The unit comprises two robust, rot proof enclosures which carry:
1)
Dual dynamic microphone transducers (Type MW-58)
2)
Weatherproof momentary illuminating push buttons (large
enough to be easily operated by a gloved hand)
It is possible to equip the unit with up to eight push button
illuminating selectors in vessel 2 and five in vessel 1 Critical buttons
are fitted with hinged protective cover to prevent accidental operation.

The Push buttons are used to control the Ziztel ZX100 Central Processor located in the host central rack where the
‘cause and effect’ configuration enables emergency or routine broadcast functionality
Typical assignment for the ZAP10-02 is at muster point stations where emergency speech access and prepare to
evacuate/abandon alarm tone broadcasts are delivered to all site loudspeakers or in operational positions where
talk back/local routine paging speech communications is required.
The ZAP10-02-XX-88 is available with facilities enabling secure PAGA access in mission critical A + B or N + 1
architectures.
The protection concept is EExde and EExi Intrinsically safe and associated field cables are terminated in the host
central equipment racks on to ATEX certified safety barriers for the (IS) intrinsically safe circuit and LTD020
termination device for the non I.S. Circuits.

Note that Vessel 2 engages a dedicated Exi cable and terminals to DIN rail mount PAGA interface type
LTD020 via barriers.
Note: Photo shows LTD020 interface which is used to connect style ZAP10-02-XX-88 to target PAGA system. The
LTD020 connects to the host management via a standard RJ45 patch cord.
