In remembrance of Victor Stamov, who died too early last year on August,
24th 13 during he did, what he like to do with pleasure and great empathy participating in freeflight contests - we invite all freeflight friends around
the globe to take part in following innovative freeflight contest, which is
running as open worldwide self running contest with following main topics:
 You go out with a friend at any time to any flying field around the globe
or a dedicated sunrise contest and make 5 (min 4) flights in the morning
after sunrise to the ground in memory of Victor.
 Fly like always your VSM regular classes or try innovative classes VSM
new with same models, only small restrictions with lower performance
to use also smaller flying fields.
 Your friend keep time of your flights in a fair manner, enter all data
and results on website and confirm, that your results are flown under
the VSM rules - that’s all!
 the results and actual ranking will be shown from time to time on
www.creasus.de/ikarus/VSM.html (will be developed in short time)

VSM Contest Rules
Victor Stamov Memorial.2014
Premise: flying in dead, calm air without thermal* to measure the flight
performance of your model in gliding down
Flyingdate:
anytime in 2014 in the morning with start at sunrise*
last flight 2 hours after sunrise* latest 8“30 a.m.
*sunrise = local time of sunrise www.sunrisesunsetmap.com
Flyingfield:
anywhere on your training field or the day before or after any contest or at a
special VSM contest, which should be announced on the VSM website
VSM contest: - anybody organize like a day contest a VSM sunrise contest and announce it
before on this website - several sportsmen come with their timekeeper to
the field and fly together sunrise contest
- CD or every timekeeper collect all data/ results, put online to the website
- anybody collecting VSM fees
VSM scoring: - make 5 (minimum 4) unlimited flights in dead, calm air to the ground
- The flight with the highest and the lowest time will be cancelled and from
the rest 3 flights the average will be calculated as final result of this Sunrise
- in case of only 4 flights, the 0 will be taken as lowest time
- When thermal will appear (model stay or climb and don’t come down and
fly for instance after 4 min still in 50m height or one of the 3 flights is 60sec
more than the average of 3 ), this flight can’t be taken for VSM, due no
comparable and fair sunrise flying possible and therefore no result for this
day is possible - try another day again .
- To eliminate the 1 day luck and make the VSM as fair and challenging as
possible for 20% minimum 10 of best Top score flyers in every category
will be taken the average of 3 sunrise flying and 2 of them must be flown
on different fields; for others the best of all flown results will be taken.
- Several entering are possible, allowed and welcome!
Remark:

in the case you don’t like this Sunrise flying or a special part of VSM, please be so
kind and don’t criticize too much. Nobody force you to take part, but if you like it,
support and spread the idea to many friends around the world.

Classes:
VSM - select yourself the class, you like to fly
VSM regular: classes like always F1A, H, B, C, G, H, Q, P30
with high performance and long flights
VSM new: innovative classes, but with same existing model
- shorter flights with lower performance
- can be flown on smaller fields
- F1H 50, F1A 50 and F1B-E will be also in regular ranking
A. F1H 50 or F1A 50
start a glider model with 50m without gaining height by acceleration
B. F1B - E (E = easy, entry)
start a F1B - E (Easy, Entry) - no variable pitch, no servo
C. F1Q 3
start a F1Q model with energy of 3 Joule/ sec (regular F1Q has 5J/sec)
Results:
- enter all data of competitor, model and results latest 14 days after the flights
on the new website www.creasus.de/ikarus/VSM.html
- until the online registration is installed, please fill in the added form and
send it by mail in 14 days after flying to [email protected]
scoring:
it is planned to published the results in each class on the website, but it is also
planned to make an overall ranking - details will come later  surprise

Fairness:

Victor shows always fairplay and fairfly 
- please follow him in own responsibility and sportsmanship
- please enter only flights, which have been flown under the premise
- Cheating has no place in VSM and will be punished by disqualification

Fees:
2 EUR or 2,5 $ for each sunrise flying
1. Collecting for all stand alone VSM flying in your country/ region and in case of
a sunrise contest with VSM flying, collecting of the amount from all flyers will
be welcome by one person per country and payment for all like step 2!
2. Payment is possible as bank transfer to me or paying cash to any VSM Jury
member, Godfather or me during the year, but before yearend!
Request to all: please help us to bring this VSM to success by taking part and
being a volunteer in your country/ region
Principle of VSM:
It is not important to win, but to gain from participation!
New friends, new experiences...
This VSM should be a self running contest without big workload for any person
except the starting phase of implementation this series, therefore assistance by
you is highly appreciated by own input of complete data on website and
sportsmanship with respect and fairness of all, due the remembrance of our
friend Victor Stamov is the middle point of this innovative series !
