Then, propose the lowest cost solution based on your customer’s requirements. Here are three questions you should ask and how to interpret them. What is your budget? • Capacity solutions range from under $12K to $25K U.S. list price. • Consolidation solutions range from $28 to $70K U.S. list price. • Performance solutions range from $50 to $80 U.S. list price. Capacity and IOPS? What applications? • Most SMBs will be satisfied with capacity solutions given the 48 GB RAM. • For mixed, virtualized workloads sell a consolidation solution. • FAST Suite is available on Express Solution 5 and 6. • For high IOPS and low capacity (for example VDI) requirements, the performance solutions will work best. • If you hear “I just need X TB of capacity,” sell the capacity solutions. • If you hear heavy mixed workloads and virtualization from 60–120 VMs, sell consolidation solutions. • If you hear demanding databases, OLTP, or VDI, sell performance solutions.
