DATA SHEET iWavePort WLP11B Wireless-B Network PCI Adapter The Compex iWavePort WLP11B, an 11Mbps Wireless LAN PCI Adapter, is a cost effective wireless solution. With the support of 64-bit or 128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy), it provides security for wireless LAN communications between mobile users. The client manager provides an easy platform for users to configure their wireless network using the profile management. The configuration utility also includes a set of diagnostic tools that allow users to plot or monitor the performance of the wireless client in the wireless network. The iWavePort WLP11B is designed with SMA-type connector that connects to the optional Compex Indoor Range Extenders for improved wireless coverage. Security The iWavePort WLP11B wireless-B PCI adapter supports 64-bit or 128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption to ensure that data stays secure in the wireless network. Only wireless clients that are configured with the same WEP key will be able to retrieve the encrypted data. Reliable Operations The iWavePort WLP11B is IEEE 802.11b compliant and is able to inter-operate with other wireless network devices built on the same standard. In addition, the dynamic rate shifting capability allows automatic selection of optimum connection speed (11Mbps, 5.5Mbps and 1Mbps) to any wireless LAN devices or access points. Technote - Rev 1.0 Optional External Antenna Compex WLP11B comes with an external 2dBi antenna with SMA-type connector. The optional iWavePort Indoor Range Extender allows wider coverage and better performance when used together with the iWavePort WLP11B. Profile Management The Compex wireless LAN allows the user to configure different profiles, allowing the wireless card to change to operate in different wireless networks by simply changing the profile. Monitoring The client manager comes with a built-in monitoring & diagnostic software that monitors wireless sites or access points, providing valuable information like signal strength, SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) and channels. It allows testing of wireless card hardware, software drivers and firmware integrity through the card diagnostic option, giving the user ease in troubleshooting the iWavePort WLP11B during installation.
